Download a JoyRead story
Open the story on JoyRead and copy its URL. A typical link looks like

joyread.comand its subdomains.Choose whether to include the story’s images.
Select EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
Download the file and open it in a compatible reading app.
WP Downloader downloads whole JoyRead stories. It cannot download individual chapters or story lists. When new chapters are published, paste the link again and download a new copy.
Choose a file format
EPUB text adjusts to different screen sizes and reading settings, making it suitable for most ebook readers. The JoyRead to EPUB guide has more information.

Both formats can include the story’s images. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Sign in for members-only stories
You do not need to sign in for public JoyRead stories. For members-only stories, you can sign in with your JoyRead account to download the chapters that account can read.
WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass paid chapters, locked content, or other access restrictions. Chapters that your account cannot read are not included.

Can I download a single JoyRead chapter?
No. WP Downloader downloads the whole story from a JoyRead link. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from the site.
Can WP Downloader include locked or paid chapters?
Only when the JoyRead account you sign in with can already read them. Chapters unavailable to your account are not included.
Do I need an account?
Public stories do not require a JoyRead account. You may need to sign in to JoyRead for members-only stories. PDF downloads require a separate free Discord sign-in, while EPUB is free for everyone.
Can I add new chapters to an EPUB I already downloaded?
No. WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB. Submit the JoyRead story link again to download a new copy containing any chapters you can currently access. Visit the help center for more guides.
