How to read a JoyRead story in Apple Books

To read a JoyRead story in Apple Books, download it as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader and add the file to Books. This works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Download the JoyRead story

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. Open the JoyRead downloader, then copy the full address of the story you want from joyread.com.

A JoyRead story link looks like this:

Paste the link into WP Downloader, then:

1. Wait for WP Downloader to identify JoyRead from the link.
2. Choose EPUB or PDF.
3. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
4. Download the file.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

For JoyRead, WP Downloader downloads whole stories rather than individual chapters or lists. If the story gets new chapters later, download it again. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have.

You can download public stories without signing in to JoyRead. Signing in is optional and lets WP Downloader reach members-only stories that your account can read. Locked or paid chapters are included only if they are already available to your account. WP Downloader does not bypass paywalls or locked chapters.

Add the story on iPhone

You can add the downloaded EPUB or PDF from Safari or the Files app.

From Safari

1. Open Safari’s downloads.
2. Tap the JoyRead EPUB or PDF.
3. Tap Share.
4. Choose Books.

The story will appear in your Apple Books Library.

From the Files app

Open Files and find the downloaded EPUB or PDF. Tap the file, tap Share, and choose Books. Apple Books will import it into your Library.

Add the story on iPad

The process is the same on iPad:

1. Download the JoyRead story as an EPUB or PDF.
2. Open it from Safari’s downloads or the Files app.
3. Tap Share.
4. Choose Books.

You can then open the story from your Apple Books Library.

Add the story on Mac

Find the downloaded file, then add it using either method:

• Open Books and drag the EPUB into the app.
• In Books, choose File, then Add to Library.

Once imported, the story will appear in your Apple Books Library.

Get new chapters

An imported book does not update when JoyRead adds chapters. Return to WP Downloader and download the whole story again to get the chapters currently available to you.
