How to read a JoyRead story on Android

WP Downloader lets you save a JoyRead story as an EPUB or PDF, which you can then open on an Android phone or tablet. Google Play Books accepts both formats, while apps such as Moon+ Reader can open the EPUB directly.

Download the JoyRead story

WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you can use it in your Android browser without installing anything.

1. Open the JoyRead Downloader.
2. Copy the story address from joyread.com.
3. Paste the address into the download box.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the finished file to your Android device.

EPUB is free for everyone. Creating a PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

WP Downloader saves the whole story. It cannot download a single JoyRead chapter or a list. If the author publishes more chapters later, download the story again to make a new file. WPD cannot add those chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded.

Locked and paid chapters

WP Downloader includes only the content your account can already read. It cannot bypass paid chapters, locked content, or access restrictions.

Signing in to your JoyRead account is optional. It lets WP Downloader reach members-only stories and any restricted chapters that your account can open on JoyRead. Your account credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested.

A chapter that remains locked for your account will not appear in the downloaded book.

Read the EPUB in Google Play Books

Google Play Books accepts your own DRM-free EPUB and PDF files. After uploading a book, you can read it on Android, iPhone, iPad, or the web.

To add the JoyRead story from Android:

1. Download the EPUB from WP Downloader.
2. Open the Google Play Books app.
3. Upload the EPUB from your device.
4. Open the uploaded book.

You can also upload the file through the Play Books website from your computer or Google Drive. Once it has been uploaded, open Google Play Books on your Android phone or tablet to read it.

Very large books may reach Google’s upload size limit. If the upload fails, try opening the EPUB directly in another Android reading app.

Use another EPUB reader

Moon+ Reader opens EPUB files on Android and has a built-in text-to-speech mode. Download the EPUB, then open the file with Moon+ Reader.

Listen to the story on Android

Moon+ Reader can read an EPUB aloud with its built-in text-to-speech mode. @Voice Aloud Reader can also open and read EPUB files.

Android’s Select to Speak feature reads items shown on the screen. Turn it on by opening Settings, then Accessibility. You can then tap an item to hear it read aloud.

These options use the text-to-speech voices installed on your device, so the narration depends on the voices available on your phone or tablet.

Choose between EPUB and PDF

Choose EPUB if you plan to read the story in Google Play Books, Moon+ Reader, or @Voice Aloud Reader.

Choose PDF if you prefer that format and are willing to sign in with Discord to create it. Google Play Books accepts both EPUB and PDF uploads.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Can I download a JoyRead story directly on Android?

Yes. Open the JoyRead Downloader in your browser, paste the JoyRead story link, and download the EPUB or PDF. You do not need to install WP Downloader.

Can I download only one JoyRead chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads whole JoyRead stories. It does not download individual chapters or lists from this site.

Will paid and locked chapters be included?

Only when your JoyRead account can already read them. WP Downloader cannot bypass paywalls or locked chapters.

Can Google Play Books open the downloaded file?

Yes. You can upload DRM-free EPUB and PDF files to Google Play Books and read them on an Android phone or tablet.

How do I get newly published chapters?

Download the story again. WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB with new chapters.
