WP Downloader turns a Sufficient Velocity story thread into one EPUB for reading away from the forum. It collects the threadmarked chapters and combines them into a single book.
How to download a Sufficient Velocity story
Open the Sufficient Velocity story thread. Its URL should look like
https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/some-story-name.123456/.Copy the full URL from your browser’s address bar.
Paste it into the download box above and choose EPUB.
Choose whether to include the story’s images.
Start the download. WP Downloader will collect the threadmarked chapters into one EPUB.
You can also use the main Sufficient Velocity downloader to choose the output format.
What the EPUB contains
The EPUB contains the threadmarked chapters from the Sufficient Velocity story thread. Instead of saving separate forum pages, you get one ebook that is easier to organize and open in an EPUB reader.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and there is nothing to install. You can also include the story’s images in the book.
WP Downloader downloads the whole story available through its threadmarks. It does not download individual chapters or forum lists from Sufficient Velocity. If the author adds more chapters later, download the story again to get them. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already have.
The Sufficient Velocity to PDF converter creates a PDF instead. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
Signing in to Sufficient Velocity
Public stories do not require an account. For a members-only story, you can sign in with your Sufficient Velocity account so WP Downloader can fetch it.
Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested. WP Downloader can download only the content your account is allowed to read. It does not bypass members-only access, paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.
Sufficient Velocity support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader licensed under Apache-2.0. The supported sites list includes the other fiction archives, forums, and web-novel sites that work with WP Downloader.
FAQ
Which Sufficient Velocity link should I paste?
Paste the URL of the main story thread. These links commonly begin with https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/ and end with the thread name and number. WP Downloader also recognizes links from forum.sufficientvelocity.com and sufficientvelocity.com.
Does WP Downloader include every post in the thread?
WP Downloader collects the threadmarked chapters. Sufficient Velocity threads often include discussion alongside the story, and the threadmarks identify the chapter posts to include in the EPUB.
Can I download one chapter instead of the whole story?
No. WP Downloader downloads Sufficient Velocity stories as complete books. Single-chapter and list downloads are not available for this site.
Why might I need to sign in?
Sign-in is optional. You only need it when a story requires a Sufficient Velocity account to view. Signing in does not unlock content your account cannot already read. For troubleshooting, see the help guides.
