Read a Sufficient Velocity Story in KOReader

To read a Sufficient Velocity story in KOReader, download the thread as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then copy the file to your device and open it from KOReader’s file browser. KOReader runs on Kobo, PocketBook, and Android devices, as well as Kindles that have been jailbroken.

Download the story with WP Downloader

Sufficient Velocity stories are forum threads. WP Downloader collects the threadmarked chapters and combines them into one book.

Go to the Sufficient Velocity downloader. You can also paste the story link into the box on the WP Downloader home page, which detects the source automatically.

A Sufficient Velocity story URL usually looks like this:

Paste the thread URL into WP Downloader, then:

1. Make sure you copied the main story thread link.
2. Choose EPUB as the output format.
3. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
4. Download the EPUB to your phone or computer.

EPUB is free for everyone and opens in KOReader. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, but that requires a free Discord sign-in. KOReader opens PDF files too, though this guide uses EPUB.

For Sufficient Velocity, WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It does not download individual chapters or lists. If the author adds more chapters, download the story again to create a new EPUB. WP Downloader cannot add the new chapters to your existing file.

Sign in only when the story requires it

You do not need to sign in for public stories. If a story is available only to members, you can sign in with your Sufficient Velocity account to download content that account can read.

WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions. Content that your account cannot read on Sufficient Velocity remains unavailable through WP Downloader.

Copy the EPUB to your KOReader device

After downloading the EPUB, copy it to the device where you use KOReader. The transfer method depends on the device.

Kobo or PocketBook

Connect the e-reader to your computer with USB and copy the EPUB to the device as usual. Safely disconnect it when the transfer finishes.

Open KOReader’s file browser, find the EPUB, and select it to start reading.

Download the EPUB directly to your Android device, or move it from a computer with your usual Android file-transfer method.

Open KOReader’s file browser and go to the folder where you saved the EPUB. If the book is not there, check the folder where your browser normally keeps downloaded files.

Get updated chapters

More threadmarked chapters may appear after you first download a story. WP Downloader cannot add them to the EPUB you already have.

To download the current version:

1. Return to the Sufficient Velocity downloader.
2. Paste the same story thread URL.
3. Download a new EPUB.
4. Copy the new file to your device and open it in KOReader.

You can delete the older copy or keep both versions. Check which file was downloaded most recently so that you do not open the earlier version by mistake.
