How to Send an AO3 Story to Kindle
To send an Archive of Our Own story to your Kindle, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and upload the file through Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library, where you can read it on a Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app.
Download the Archive of Our Own story
WP Downloader is a free web tool that does not require installation. Open the Archive of Our Own downloader to get started.
Copy the link to the story you want to read. An Archive of Our Own work link looks like this:

Paste the link into the downloader and select EPUB as the output format. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and the files work with Send to Kindle. You can choose whether to include the story’s images.
For Archive of Our Own, WP Downloader downloads the complete story. It does not download individual chapters or lists of stories. If the author publishes more chapters later, download the story again to make a new EPUB. The downloader cannot update an existing file.
You can sign in with your Archive of Our Own account to access members-only stories that the account can read. Public stories do not require an account. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested and cannot access anything your account is not allowed to read.

Send the EPUB to Kindle
After saving the EPUB to your phone or computer, transfer it with Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. You can use the Send to Kindle website, the app, or email.
Use Send to Kindle on the web
Open Amazon’s Send to Kindle page in your browser, choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader, and submit it.
Amazon converts the EPUB to a Kindle-compatible book and adds it to your Kindle library. You can then read the story on a Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app.
The website is convenient when the EPUB is already on the device where you are browsing.
Use the Send to Kindle app
In Amazon’s Send to Kindle app, select the EPUB from your device and upload it. Amazon processes the file and places the converted book in your Kindle library.
Once processing finishes, look for the story in your library on your Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app.
Send the EPUB by email
Attach the EPUB to an email and send it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.
You must send the message from an approved email address. Amazon will not add the file to your Kindle library if the sender has not been approved.

Which file format should you use?
Use EPUB if you want the story to appear as a book in your Kindle library. Send to Kindle accepts EPUB files and converts them for Kindle e-readers and apps.
WP Downloader can also create a PDF, but downloading one requires a free Discord sign-in. Send to Kindle accepts PDF files too.
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. MOBI is not needed because Send to Kindle no longer accepts that format.
Finding the story on your Kindle
After Amazon converts the EPUB, the story appears in your Kindle library. You can open it on a Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app.
