Download formats
The EPUB contains all threadmarked chapters from the story in a single book. EPUB downloads are free for everyone.
You can also use the alternatehistory.com to PDF converter. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
Alternatehistory.com downloads cover whole stories. Single chapters and story lists are not supported. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded, so you will need to download the story again when you want an updated copy.
Members-only stories
You do not need an account to download a publicly available story. You can sign in with your alternatehistory.com account to download a members-only story that the account can already read.
WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass account requirements, paywalls, locked content, or age restrictions. Content that your account cannot read on the site will remain unavailable.
Alternatehistory.com support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader licensed under Apache-2.0. WP Downloader supports 87 other fiction archives, which you can browse on the supported sites page.
