Download formats
AlternateHistory.com stories are published as forum threads. WP Downloader follows the threadmarks and collects the threadmarked chapters into one book.
You can download the result as:
EPUB, which is free for everyone. See the AlternateHistory.com to EPUB guide for more details.
PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. The AlternateHistory.com to PDF guide explains the process.
You can choose to include the story’s images. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. If the author adds more threadmarked chapters later, download the story again to create a new copy with the available chapters.
AlternateHistory.com support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader licensed under Apache-2.0. The supported sites page lists the other compatible fiction archives.

FAQ
Can I download one chapter from a thread?
No. WP Downloader creates a book from the whole story by collecting its threadmarked chapters. It does not support single-chapter downloads or lists of threads from AlternateHistory.com.
Do I need an AlternateHistory.com account?
Not for public stories. Sign in only when a story is restricted to members and your account has access to it.
Can I update an EPUB I already downloaded?
No. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. Paste the story link into the downloader again to create a new book containing the chapters currently available.
Why is a chapter missing?
WP Downloader collects the chapters identified by the thread’s threadmarks, so content without a threadmark may be left out. Restricted content is unavailable unless your signed-in account can read it. Visit Help for further assistance.
