How to read a SpaceBattles story on a Kobo e-reader

To read a SpaceBattles story on a Kobo, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your e-reader. Kobo devices open EPUB files without conversion.

Download the SpaceBattles story as an EPUB

SpaceBattles stories are published as forum threads on forums.spacebattles.com. WP Downloader gathers the threadmarked chapters from a story thread into a single book.

To download the story:

1. Open the SpaceBattles downloader.
2. Paste the story thread link into the box.
3. Choose EPUB as the output format.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the finished EPUB to your device.

You do not need a SpaceBattles account. WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story from SpaceBattles. It cannot download a single chapter or a list. If the author adds more threadmarked chapters later, download the story again to make a new EPUB. WPD cannot add chapters to an EPUB you already have.

Put the EPUB on your Kobo with USB

You can copy the EPUB directly from a computer to your Kobo over USB.

1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive on the computer.
3. Open the Kobo drive.
4. Copy the EPUB from WP Downloader onto the Kobo.
5. Eject the Kobo safely.
6. Disconnect it from the computer.

The story will appear in your Kobo library. You can open it like any other book and read it without an internet connection.

Add the story through Dropbox

The following Kobo models can receive non-protected EPUB files through Dropbox when running software version 4.18 or later:

• Kobo Sage

• Kobo Elipsa 2E
• Kobo Libra Colour

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the EPUB in the connected cloud folder, and sync the Kobo. After the sync, the story will appear on that device.

Books transferred through Dropbox appear only on the Kobo where you added them.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive transfers require Kobo software version 4.37 or later and work on the same models:

• Kobo Libra Colour

On the Kobo home screen, open “More” and then “My Google Drive.” Select “Get Started.” The e-reader will show a code that you can enter on the Kobo website to link your Google Drive account.

Once the account is linked, put the EPUB in the connected Google Drive folder and sync the e-reader. A book transferred this way appears only on that Kobo device.

EPUB or PDF for Kobo?

EPUB is a good fit for Kobo because the e-readers open the format natively. EPUB downloads from WP Downloader are free for everyone.

WPD can also create a PDF, though PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. The supported Kobo models can receive non-protected PDF files through Dropbox or Google Drive when they meet the software requirements listed above.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
