Download a SpaceBattles Story as EPUB or PDF
WP Downloader can collect the threadmarked chapters from a SpaceBattles story thread and put them in one EPUB or PDF for offline reading. EPUB is free for everyone, and you do not need a SpaceBattles account.
How to download a SpaceBattles story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything.
- Open the SpaceBattles story thread.
- Copy the full thread URL from your browser.
- Go to WP Downloader.
- Paste the SpaceBattles URL into the box on the home page.
- Wait for WP Downloader to detect the site and collect the threadmarked chapters.
- Choose EPUB or PDF.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the file, then open it in a reading app or transfer it to your e-reader.
WP Downloader downloads the whole story from SpaceBattles. It cannot download a single chapter by itself.
Which SpaceBattles URL should you use?
SpaceBattles stories are forum threads on forums.spacebattles.com. Copy the main story thread URL, which usually looks like this:
https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/some-story-name.123456/The link must point to the story thread. Paste the URL into WP Downloader instead of copying the text from a chapter.
WP Downloader uses the threadmarks to find the chapters and combine them into one ebook. The resulting book follows the thread’s current threadmark organization.
Do you need to sign in?
You do not need a SpaceBattles account. Paste the story thread URL into WP Downloader, and it will collect the threadmarked chapters without asking you to sign in to SpaceBattles.
The output format has its own sign-in rules:
- EPUB is free for everyone and does not require a Discord sign-in.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
The Discord sign-in provides access to PDF output. It is separate from SpaceBattles.
Should you choose EPUB or PDF?
Both formats contain the threadmarked chapters in one file.
EPUB
Choose EPUB if you want an ebook file for a compatible reading app or e-reader. EPUB downloads are free for everyone.
Choose PDF if you prefer that format or use a device or reading app that supports it. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in.
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
Read the story on an e-reader
After downloading the story, open the EPUB or PDF in a compatible reading app or transfer it to your e-reader. The transfer process depends on your device and service.
For Kindle, use the Send to Kindle guide to move the downloaded book into your Kindle library.
Keep the downloaded file somewhere you can find it again. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB.
Download newly posted chapters
When the author adds more threadmarked chapters, return to WP Downloader and download the story again. The new file will contain the threadmarked chapters available at that time.
WP Downloader creates a new book instead of updating your existing EPUB or PDF. You can replace the older copy in your reading library if you want the newer chapters.
