How to Read Royal Road Stories on a Kobo

Add the EPUB to your Kobo with a USB cable

USB transfer works without a cloud account.

1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive on the computer.
3. Open the Kobo drive.
4. Copy the downloaded EPUB to the drive.
5. Eject the Kobo safely from the computer.
6. Disconnect the cable.

The story will appear in your Kobo library. You can then open it like any other book.

Keep the EPUB somewhere easy to find on your computer in case you need to copy it to the Kobo again.

Add the story with Dropbox

The following Kobo models can import non-protected EPUB and PDF files through Dropbox when running software version 4.18 or later:

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the Royal Road EPUB in the connected cloud folder, and sync your Kobo. The book will appear only on the Kobo where you added it.

Add the story with Google Drive

Google Drive requires Kobo software version 4.37 or later and works on these models:

• Kobo Sage
• Kobo Elipsa

• Kobo Libra Colour

To connect Google Drive from the e-reader:

1. Go to Home.
2. Select More.
3. Select My Google Drive.
4. Select Get Started.
5. Enter the displayed code on the Kobo website to link your account.
6. Put the EPUB in the connected Google Drive folder.
7. Sync the e-reader.

The imported story will appear only on the Kobo where you added it.

Get newly published chapters

WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB already in your Kobo library. When the author publishes more chapters, return to the Royal Road downloader, paste the fiction link again, and download the whole story as a new file.

Transfer the new EPUB by USB, Dropbox, or Google Drive. It will contain the complete fiction available when you download it, including the newer chapters.
