How to Download a Royal Road Story as EPUB or PDF
Royal Road is home to thousands of web serials - LitRPG, progression fantasy, isekai and more - many of them hundreds of chapters long. WP Downloader turns a whole Royal Road fiction into a single EPUB or PDF so you can read it offline, in your favourite reading app, without opening a browser tab per chapter.
Before you start
You don’t need a Royal Road account. WP Downloader reads public fictions anonymously, so there’s nothing to sign in to and no password to share.
Steps to download a Royal Road story
1. Copy the fiction URL
Open the fiction on Royal Road and copy the address from your browser. It looks like:
https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/21220/mother-of-learningA link to any chapter works too - WP Downloader always downloads the whole fiction, from the first chapter to the latest.
2. Paste it into WP Downloader
Go to the Royal Road Downloader and paste the link. Royal Road is already selected there; on the home page the tool switches to Royal Road automatically when you paste a Royal Road link.
3. Choose EPUB or PDF
Pick EPUB for text that reflows to fit any screen, or PDF for a fixed layout. EPUB is free for everyone; PDF needs a free Discord sign-in.
4. Download
Click Download. Long fictions take longer than short stories, because every chapter is fetched and assembled into one book - for a fiction with hundreds of chapters, give it a few minutes and keep the tab open.
What’s in the file
- Every published chapter, in reading order, each with its own entry in the table of contents.
- Author’s notes at the start and end of chapters, kept so you don’t miss announcements, schedules or glossary updates.
- Cover, title, author and description in the book’s metadata, so it shows up properly in your library.
- Images, if you turn on Include Images - handy for fictions with maps, status screens or character art.
