Read an AltHistory Story on a reMarkable Tablet

Choose EPUB or PDF for your reMarkable

reMarkable tablets support EPUB and PDF files up to 100 MB, so both WP Downloader formats will work.

Choose EPUB if you want to download the story without signing in through Discord. Choose PDF if you prefer that format and are willing to use the free sign-in.

Make a note of where the file is saved on your phone or computer. You will need to select it when transferring the story to your reMarkable.

Transfer the story with the reMarkable app

You can import EPUB and PDF files through the reMarkable desktop or mobile app.

1. Open the reMarkable app on your phone or computer.
2. Choose the file import option.
3. Select the EPUB or PDF you downloaded from WP Downloader.
4. Transfer the file to your reMarkable tablet.
5. Open the story on the tablet when it appears.

The controls differ between the desktop and mobile apps, but in either case you need to import the EPUB or PDF created by WP Downloader.

Transfer the story from a web browser

You can also upload EPUB and PDF files to reMarkable from a web browser.

Open the reMarkable web service, choose the file upload option, and select the AltHistory EPUB or PDF. Once the file has transferred to the tablet, open it to start reading.

Check the file size before uploading. reMarkable supports EPUB and PDF files up to 100 MB.

Transfer the story over USB

A USB cable is another option. This method uses the tablet’s USB web interface.

1. Connect the reMarkable tablet to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Open the tablet’s storage settings.
3. Turn on the USB web interface.
4. Open 10.11.99.1 in a browser on the connected computer.
5. Upload the EPUB or PDF from WP Downloader.
6. Open the transferred story on your reMarkable.

The path to the USB web interface setting can differ between reMarkable software versions. If you do not see it where expected, look for the USB web interface option in the tablet’s storage settings.

Reading updated AltHistory stories

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to a file you have already downloaded. If the author adds more threadmarked chapters, return to the AltHistory downloader and download the whole story again.

Transfer the new file to your reMarkable through the app, a web browser, or USB. The new copy will contain the chapters available when you downloaded it.
