How to Read AltHistory Stories in the Kindle App
To read an AltHistory story in the Kindle app, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and send the file to your Kindle library. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so there is nothing to install.
Download the AltHistory story as an EPUB
Find the AltHistory thread you want to read. Its address should look like this:
https://althistory.com/threads/some-story-name.123456/Copy the complete thread link and open the AltHistory downloader. You can also paste the link into the box on the WP Downloader home page. The tool will detect that the link comes from AltHistory.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and you can choose whether to include the story’s images.
AltHistory stories are forum threads. WP Downloader collects the threadmarked chapters and puts them into one book. It downloads the whole story, not individual chapters or lists.
You do not need to sign in to AltHistory. WP Downloader fetches only the story you request and does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Send the EPUB to your Kindle library
Send the downloaded EPUB to Amazon with Send to Kindle. Amazon converts the file and adds the book to your Kindle library.
You can send the file in three ways:
- Upload it through Send to Kindle on the web.
- Share it through the Send to Kindle app.
- Email it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.
Files sent by email must come from an approved sender email address. Amazon will reject the attachment if the sender is not approved.
WP Downloader can also create a PDF, but that format requires a free Discord sign-in. EPUB is free and accepted by Send to Kindle. WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files, and Send to Kindle no longer accepts MOBI files.

Open the story in the Kindle app
After Amazon processes the EPUB, the converted book appears in your Kindle library. Open the Kindle app, find the story in your library, and select it to start reading.
The converted book is also available from your Kindle library on Kindle e-readers. WP Downloader gathers the threadmarked chapters into a single EPUB, so you can read the story as one book instead of moving between forum posts.
Get newly posted chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the author adds more threadmarked chapters, return to the AltHistory downloader and download the whole story again.
Send the new EPUB through Send to Kindle using the same method as before. The new file contains the complete story as it was when you downloaded it rather than updating the earlier file.
