How to Read AltHistory Stories in Apple Books

WP Downloader lets you save an AltHistory story as an EPUB or PDF and import it into Apple Books on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. It is a free web tool, so there is nothing to install.

Download the AltHistory story

AltHistory stories are forum threads. WP Downloader gathers the threadmarked chapters from a story thread and combines them into one book.

An AltHistory story address looks like this:

To download a story:

1. Open the AltHistory story and copy its full address.
2. Go to the AltHistory story downloader.
3. Paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will detect that it comes from AltHistory.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF.
5. Select the image option if you want to include the story’s images.
6. Download the finished book.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. Apple Books can open either format.

Add the story on iPhone or iPad

Once the download is complete:

1. Open the file from Safari’s downloads or the Files app.
2. Tap Share.
3. Choose Books.

Apple Books will import the file into your Library. Open the Books app and select the story to start reading.

Add the story on Mac

Download the story to your Mac, then import it with either of these methods.

Drag the EPUB into Books

1. Open the Books app.
2. Find the downloaded EPUB in Finder.
3. Drag the EPUB into the Books window.

The story will appear in your Library.

Use Add to Library

1. Open the Books app.
2. Open the File menu.
3. Choose Add to Library.
4. Select the downloaded story file.

Apple Books supports EPUB and PDF files, so either WP Downloader format will work.

Choose a file format

EPUB is available without a Discord sign-in. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. Both formats open in Apple Books.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. Apple Books does not need these formats because it already opens EPUB and PDF files.

Download new chapters

WP Downloader does not add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the AltHistory thread gets more threadmarked chapters, download the story again and import the new file into Apple Books.

Do I need an AltHistory account?

No. WP Downloader can download AltHistory stories without an AltHistory sign-in.

Can I download one AltHistory chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads the whole story from AltHistory. It combines the threadmarked chapters into one book and does not support individual chapters or story lists for this site.
