How to Read an Ad Astra Story in the Kindle App
To read an Ad Astra story in the Kindle app, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and send the file to your Kindle library. WP Downloader is free, works in your browser, and does not require an installation.
Download the Ad Astra story as an EPUB
Find the story on adastrafanfic.com. Its URL should look like this:
https://www.adastrafanfic.com/works/123456 Copy the full URL and open the Ad Astra story downloader. Paste the link into the box. WP Downloader will detect the site.
Select EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and is accepted by Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. You can also choose whether the EPUB should include the story’s images.
For Ad Astra, WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list. If the author publishes more chapters, download the story again to make a new EPUB. An existing EPUB will not update automatically.
Public stories do not require an account. You can sign in with your Ad Astra account to download members-only stories that the account can read. WP Downloader cannot bypass locked content or age restrictions. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested.
The guide to downloading Ad Astra stories covers this process in more detail.
Send the EPUB to your Kindle library
The downloaded EPUB is saved to your phone, tablet, or computer. To add it to the Kindle app, send it through Amazon’s Send to Kindle service.
Amazon accepts and converts EPUB files, then adds them to your Kindle library. You can transfer the story in three ways:
- Upload the EPUB through Send to Kindle on the web.
- Use the Send to Kindle app.
- Email the EPUB to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.
When sending the file by email, use an approved sender email address. Amazon will not accept files sent to your Kindle address from an unapproved address.
WP Downloader can also create a PDF after you sign in with Discord for free, and Send to Kindle accepts PDFs. EPUB does not require a Discord sign-in.
Send to Kindle no longer accepts MOBI files. WP Downloader does not produce MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
See the Send to Kindle guide for details about each transfer method. There is also a separate guide to sending Ad Astra stories to Kindle.
Open the story in the Kindle app
Once Amazon has received and converted the EPUB, the story will appear in your Kindle library. Open the Kindle app on your phone or tablet, find the book in your library, and tap it to start reading.
The story can also appear on Kindle e-readers connected to the same library, so you can switch between the Kindle app and a Kindle device.
Your EPUB contains the story as it was when you downloaded it. If new chapters are published on Ad Astra, download the story again and send the new EPUB to Kindle.
To read on a Kobo device or app instead, follow the guide to reading Ad Astra stories on Kobo.
