How to add Psychfic stories to calibre
To add a Psychfic story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file using calibre’s Add books button. Both tools are free, and WP Downloader runs in your browser without anything to install.
Step 1: Download the Psychfic story
Find the story on psychfic.com. Its address should look like this:

Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and can be added directly to calibre. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.

Step 2: Add the EPUB to calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Once the EPUB has downloaded:
- Select Add books in calibre.
- Find the downloaded EPUB on your computer.
- Select the file and add it to your library.
- Wait for the story to appear in your book list.
You can now read the story, edit its details, convert it, or send it to a connected e-reader.
Organize the story in your library
Select the imported story and open calibre’s metadata editor. From there, you can edit its metadata or replace the cover.
Using consistent names and details can make a growing fanfiction collection easier to browse. If you edit one story, consider using the same approach for the rest of your Psychfic library so related books remain easy to find.
Changes made in calibre affect only your personal library. They do not alter the original story on Psychfic.
Read the story in calibre
calibre includes an e-book viewer, so you can read the imported EPUB on your computer without a separate e-reader.
The viewer also has a Read aloud feature for listening to the story through your computer. Because the EPUB is stored locally, you can open it from your calibre library without returning to the Psychfic page.
Convert the story to another format
WP Downloader provides EPUB files directly. It can also create a PDF after a free Discord sign-in, but it does not output MOBI, AZW3, or TXT.
If you need another supported e-book format, calibre can convert the imported EPUB. For example, it can convert EPUB to:
- AZW3
- MOBI
Select the story in calibre, choose the conversion option, and pick the format you need. You can keep the original EPUB in your library alongside the converted version.
Send the story to an e-reader over USB
Connect your e-reader to your computer with a USB cable. Once calibre recognizes the device, select the Psychfic story and use the option to send the book to it.
Choose a format supported by your e-reader. If needed, convert the EPUB in calibre before transferring it.

Keep updated stories organized
