How to Track Sheppard/Weir Stories on Goodreads and StoryGraph
Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from Goodreads and may not appear on The StoryGraph either. After saving a Command Dynamics Sheppard/Weir story as an EPUB, you can look for an existing listing, add the work to Goodreads if your account is eligible, or track it in your own calibre library.
Download the Sheppard/Weir story
WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. Open the Sheppard/Weir downloader and copy the address of the story you want. A Command Dynamics story address looks like this:
https://sheppardweir.com/fanfics/viewstory.php?sid=1234Paste the address into WP Downloader. It detects the archive and downloads the complete story. Single chapters and lists are not supported for this site.
Choose a format:
- EPUB is free for everyone and is suitable for a personal e-book library.
- PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
- You can also choose to include the story’s images.
Signing in to sheppardweir.com is optional. If a story is restricted to members, you can sign in with your account so WP Downloader can retrieve it, provided that account already has access. WP Downloader does not bypass account restrictions or download anything your account cannot read.
See how to download Sheppard/Weir stories for the full download process.
Track the story on Goodreads
Search Goodreads for the story title and author. Most fanfiction and web serials are not in its database, so the search may return no results.
If the story has an entry, you can use it to record your reading. Keep the downloaded EPUB separately in your reading app or e-book library.
If the story is missing, eligible Goodreads accounts can add it manually at goodreads.com/book/new. The account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. You need at least the title and author.
Search carefully before adding the story in case it is listed under a slightly different title. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate records.
Check The StoryGraph
Search The StoryGraph for the title and author. Its database may not include a story from a fanfiction archive.
The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If you cannot find the story, check its current help pages for guidance.
The EPUB remains available on your device whether or not the story has a StoryGraph listing.
Keep a reading list in calibre
If Goodreads and The StoryGraph do not have the story, you can manage it in calibre. calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
After downloading the EPUB:
- Open calibre and choose Add books.
- Select the EPUB from WP Downloader.
- Review or edit its title, author, metadata, and cover.
- Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.
The viewer has a Read aloud feature. calibre can also convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not create AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files.
A calibre library lets you control the metadata and keep your downloaded fiction together. For help with a particular device, see sending Sheppard/Weir stories to Kindle or reading Sheppard/Weir stories on Kobo.
A simple way to track your reading
Download the EPUB and add it to calibre, then search Goodreads or The StoryGraph. Use an existing listing if you find one. If the story is missing from Goodreads and your account is eligible, you can add it manually. For a missing StoryGraph listing, check its help pages and keep the story in calibre.
