How to Track Inkitt Stories on Goodreads or StoryGraph

To keep track of an Inkitt story, you can download it with WP Downloader and record it on Goodreads or The StoryGraph. If the story is missing from those services, add the EPUB to calibre and keep your own reading list.

Download the Inkitt story

WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. It downloads whole Inkitt stories rather than individual chapters.

1. Open the Inkitt downloader.
2. Copy the story’s Inkitt URL. It should look like this:

3. Paste the link into WP Downloader.
4. Sign in with your Inkitt email address and password when prompted.
5. Choose EPUB. You can also choose PDF after signing in with a free Discord account.
6. Turn on the option to include the story’s images if you want them in the book.
7. Download the finished file to your device.

WP Downloader uses your Inkitt credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It can download only the content your account is allowed to read. It does not bypass locked chapters, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Add the story to Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are not in the Goodreads database, so search for the title and author before trying to add a new record.

If the story is missing, you can add it manually with an eligible Goodreads account:

1. Sign in to Goodreads.
2. Open goodreads.com/book/new in your browser.
3. Enter the story’s title and author. These are the minimum required details.
4. Save the book record.
5. Add it to the shelf you use for current, completed, or planned reading.

Your Goodreads account must have a verified email, and brand-new accounts cannot add books. If the form is unavailable, check whether your account meets those requirements.

Enter the title and author carefully. Goodreads librarians handle edits and merge duplicate records.

The downloaded EPUB stays on your phone, computer, or e-reader. Goodreads stores the separate reading record.

Track the story with The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph for the Inkitt story’s title and author. The story may not be in its database.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If you cannot find the story, check its help pages rather than following the Goodreads process.

You can use calibre as a personal reading list if the story is unavailable on The StoryGraph.

Keep a private Inkitt library in calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can use it to organize Inkitt stories that Goodreads or The StoryGraph does not have.

After installing calibre on your computer:

1. Select “Add books.”
2. Choose the EPUB downloaded from WP Downloader.
3. Edit the title, author, metadata, or cover if needed.
4. Read the story in calibre’s e-book viewer.
5. Connect an e-reader over USB if you want to send the book to it.

calibre can convert the EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader produces EPUB and PDF files, but it does not produce AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files. The calibre viewer also has a Read aloud feature.

You can keep every downloaded Inkitt story in calibre, then use Goodreads or The StoryGraph for stories found in their databases. This gives you a private library alongside your public reading records.

Update the file when new chapters appear

WP Downloader cannot update an existing EPUB. To get new chapters, download the whole story again.

You can replace the older file while keeping the same Goodreads or StoryGraph record. Check the title and author before adding another catalog entry to avoid creating a duplicate.
