How to Read Inkitt Stories on a Kobo

Download the Inkitt story as an EPUB

Put the EPUB on your Kobo with a USB cable

You can copy the EPUB from a computer to your Kobo with a USB cable. This method works without cloud storage support.

1. Connect the Kobo

Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable. It should appear on the computer as a drive.

2. Copy the EPUB

Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader and copy it to the Kobo drive.

Keep the file as an EPUB. You do not need to change its extension or convert it to a Kobo-specific format.

3. Eject the Kobo

Once the file has finished copying, eject the Kobo drive before disconnecting the cable.

4. Open the story

Transfer the story through Dropbox

The following Kobo models can add non-protected EPUB and PDF files from Dropbox when running software version 4.18 or later:

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the downloaded EPUB in the Kobo cloud folder, and sync the device. The book will appear on that Kobo.

Transfer the story through Google Drive

Google Drive transfers require Kobo software version 4.37 or later and one of these models:

From the Kobo home screen, go to More, select My Google Drive, and choose Get Started. The Kobo will display a code. Enter it on the Kobo website to link your Google Drive account.

Put the EPUB in the Google Drive folder and sync your Kobo. The story will appear in the library on that device. As with Dropbox, a book added this way appears only on the device where you added it.

Get new chapters later

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the Inkitt author publishes more chapters, return to the Inkitt downloader, paste the story link again, and download a new copy.
