How to Track FanficAuthors Stories on Goodreads or StoryGraph
To track a FanficAuthors story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph, first download it as an EPUB. You can then look for it on your preferred service or keep your own reading list in calibre.
Download the FanficAuthors story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. It supports English-language stories on FanficAuthors subdomains, including links like this:
https://jeconais.fanficauthors.net/A_Story_Name/To download a story:
- Open the FanficAuthors downloader.
- Copy the main URL of the FanficAuthors story.
- Paste the link into the downloader box.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the EPUB.
You do not need a FanficAuthors account. WP Downloader saves the whole story, not individual chapters or lists.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
When the author publishes more chapters, download the story again. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. The FanficAuthors download guide has more help with the download process.
WP Downloader’s support for FanficAuthors and its other archive sites was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.
Track the story on Goodreads
Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from the Goodreads database. Search by the story title and author first in case another reader has already added it.
If the story is missing, Goodreads allows accounts with a verified email address to add a book manually at goodreads.com/book/new. Brand-new accounts cannot add books.
You need at least:
- The story title
- The author’s name
Use the title and author from the FanficAuthors story page. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate entries, so search carefully before creating a new listing.
The EPUB is your offline copy of the story. Goodreads provides a separate place to record your reading.
Track the story on The StoryGraph
Search The StoryGraph for the story title and author. Its database may not include the FanficAuthors story.
The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If the story is missing, check its current help pages for guidance.
You can keep the EPUB on your device whether or not the story appears in the database. A personal calibre library is another option if neither tracking service suits you.
Keep a private reading list in calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It lets you organize your downloaded FanficAuthors files without relying on a public book database.
After installing calibre:
- Download the FanficAuthors story as an EPUB with WP Downloader.
- Open calibre and select “Add books.”
- Choose the downloaded EPUB.
- Edit its metadata or cover if needed.
- Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.
The e-book viewer includes a Read aloud feature, so you can listen to the story on your computer while keeping the EPUB in your calibre library.
calibre can also convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF when your device needs a format that WP Downloader does not produce.
For help with a particular device, see how to send FanficAuthors stories to Kindle or read FanficAuthors stories on Kobo.
A simple way to track your reading
Download the EPUB and add it to calibre, then search for the story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph. If you find it, record your reading there. If it is missing, calibre still keeps the title, author, and file together in your private library.
When the story gets new chapters, download it again and organize the new copy in calibre. The EPUB you already downloaded will not update automatically.
