Track Chaos Stories with Goodreads, The StoryGraph, or calibre

After downloading a Chaos story with WP Downloader, you can record it on Goodreads or The StoryGraph. You can also keep the EPUB and your reading list together in calibre, which is often the simplest choice when the story is missing from those databases.

Download the Chaos story

WP Downloader is a free web tool that requires no installation. It supports Chaos, also known as Sycophant Hex, at chaos.sycophanthex.com.

A Chaos story link looks like this:

To download a story:

1. Open the Chaos story downloader.
2. Paste the story’s main link into the box.
3. Wait for WP Downloader to detect the site and collect the story.
4. Choose EPUB, which is free for everyone, or PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in.
5. Turn on the image option if you want to include the story’s available images.
6. Save the finished file to your device.

You do not need a Chaos account. WP Downloader downloads the complete story, not an individual chapter or a list. Its support for Chaos and the other fiction archives was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.

Track the story on Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from the Goodreads database, so begin by searching for the story.

Use the existing entry if you find one. If the story is absent, eligible Goodreads members can add it manually at goodreads.com/book/new. Your account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. You need at least the title and author.

Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate entries, so check carefully before creating a new listing. The Goodreads entry records your reading, while the EPUB remains on your device or in your reading app.

Track the story on The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph to see whether the story already has an entry. Its database may not include fanfiction or web serials from Chaos.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If the story is missing, check its current help pages instead of adapting instructions for published books.

You can keep the EPUB on your phone, computer, or e-reader and use The StoryGraph for stories it recognizes. For a catalog that can hold every Chaos story you save, use calibre.

Keep a reading list in calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It stores the files you add, making it useful for fanfiction that is missing from Goodreads or The StoryGraph.

To add a Chaos story:

1. Download the story as an EPUB with WP Downloader.
2. Open calibre on your computer.
3. Select “Add books” and choose the downloaded EPUB.
4. Edit the book’s metadata or cover if needed.
5. Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.

The calibre viewer has a “Read aloud” feature for listening on your computer.

calibre can also convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not create AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files, so you can use calibre when your device needs another format.

Choose a tracking method

Goodreads works when the story already has a listing or your account is eligible to create one. The StoryGraph is also worth searching, though you will need to consult its current help pages if the story is missing.

Use calibre if you want a private library that contains the EPUB files. From there, you can edit their metadata, read them, convert them, and send them to a connected e-reader.

You can use both approaches by keeping the story in calibre and recording your reading on Goodreads or The StoryGraph whenever a suitable entry exists.

Can WP Downloader download a single Chaos chapter?

No. For Chaos, WP Downloader downloads complete stories only. It does not download individual chapters or lists.
