How to Read Syosetu Stories in Apple Books

To read a Shousetsuka ni Narou story in Apple Books, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. WP Downloader is free, runs in your browser, and does not require an installation.

Download the Syosetu story as an EPUB

Find the story on syosetu.com. WP Downloader supports story links from ncode.syosetu.com and novel18.syosetu.com. A story URL looks like this:

Copy the URL and open the Syosetu Downloader. Paste the link into the box, and WP Downloader will detect the site.

Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and opens in Apple Books. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.

Add the story to Apple Books on iPhone or iPad

1. Open the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Find the EPUB you downloaded.
3. Open the file or tap the Share button.
4. Choose Books from the Share menu.
5. Apple Books will import the EPUB into your Library.

If Apple Books does not open automatically, open the Books app and look for the story in your Library.

The story will still be in Japanese, as it is on Shousetsuka ni Narou. WP Downloader converts the story into an ebook file but does not translate it.

Add the story to Apple Books on Mac

You can drag the EPUB into the Books app:

1. Download the EPUB from WP Downloader.
2. Open the Books app.
3. Find the EPUB in Finder, usually in your Downloads folder.

Get new chapters later

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When the author publishes more chapters, return to the Syosetu Downloader, paste the story link again, and download a new copy of the whole story. Import the new EPUB into Apple Books using the same steps.
