How to Read Shousetsuka ni Narou Stories on Kobo

You can read a Shousetsuka ni Narou story on Kobo by downloading it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copying the file to your e-reader. Kobo opens EPUB files directly, so you do not need to convert the book.

Download the Syosetu story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a free web tool that requires no installation. It supports Shousetsuka ni Narou stories from ncode.syosetu.com and novel18.syosetu.com.

A story URL usually looks like this:

https://ncode.syosetu.com/n1234ab/

To download a story:

  1. Open the Shousetsuka ni Narou downloader.
  2. Copy the story URL.
  3. Paste it into the box.
  4. Choose EPUB as the output format.
  5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
  6. Download the EPUB.

You do not need to sign in. For Shousetsuka ni Narou, WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It does not download individual chapters or lists. The downloaded book remains in Japanese.

EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and Kobo e-readers support the format directly. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in.

Add the EPUB to your Kobo with USB

To transfer the EPUB from a computer:

  1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to the computer with a USB cable.
  2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive.
  3. Open the Kobo drive.
  4. Copy the downloaded EPUB onto it.
  5. Eject the Kobo safely.
  6. Disconnect the cable.

The story will appear in your Kobo library and can be read without an internet connection.

Add the EPUB through Dropbox

Dropbox transfers work with non-protected EPUB and PDF files on Kobo software version 4.18 or later. This feature is available on:

  • Kobo Forma
  • Kobo Sage
  • Kobo Elipsa
  • Kobo Elipsa 2E
  • Kobo Libra Colour

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the EPUB in the cloud folder, and sync your Kobo. The book will appear in the library on that device.

Books added through Dropbox appear only on the device where you added them.

Add the EPUB through Google Drive

Google Drive transfers require Kobo software version 4.37 or later. They are available on the same Kobo models:

  • Kobo Forma
  • Kobo Sage
  • Kobo Elipsa
  • Kobo Elipsa 2E
  • Kobo Libra Colour

To connect Google Drive:

  1. From the Kobo Home screen, select More.
  2. Open My Google Drive.
  3. Select Get Started.
  4. Note the code shown on the e-reader.
  5. Enter the code on the Kobo website.
  6. Put the EPUB in the linked cloud folder.
  7. Sync your Kobo.

The imported book appears only on that device. If your Kobo does not support Dropbox or Google Drive, transfer the EPUB by USB.

Download new chapters

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the author publishes more chapters, return to the Syosetu downloader and download the whole story again.

Transfer the new EPUB to your Kobo using USB, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
