How to read a StoryRoom story on a PocketBook
To read a StoryRoom story offline on a PocketBook e-reader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and transfer the file by email or USB.
What you need
You will need:
- A link to the StoryRoom story
- An account on the StoryRoom site
- A PocketBook e-reader
- Email access or a USB cable
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. It supports stories from storyroom.com and finestories.com. StoryRoom links usually look like this:
https://storyroom.com/s/1234/story-title WP Downloader downloads complete stories from this site. It does not download individual chapters or reading lists.
Step 1: Download the StoryRoom story
Go to the StoryRoom Downloader and paste the story link into the box. You can also use the box on the WP Downloader home page, which detects the source site from the link.
StoryRoom downloads require an account on the StoryRoom site. WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested and can access only the content your account is allowed to read. It does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.
Choose EPUB for your PocketBook. EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PocketBook e-readers also support PDF, though WP Downloader requires a free Discord sign-in to create one.
Turn on the option to include images if you want the story’s pictures in the book. Start the download and save the finished file.
The guide to downloading StoryRoom stories covers this process in more detail.
Step 2: Set up Send-to-PocketBook
Send-to-PocketBook gives your e-reader a personal email address for receiving files.
On the PocketBook:
- Open Settings.
- Select Accounts and synchronization.
- Open Send-to-PocketBook.
- Sign in and follow the activation process.
- Open the activation email.
Your Send-to-PocketBook address will end in @pbsync.com.
The service may ask you to approve or whitelist the email address you will use to send books. If prompted, add that address to the approved list.
Step 3: Email the EPUB to your PocketBook
Attach the EPUB from WP Downloader to a new email and send it from an approved address to your personal @pbsync.com address.
Sync the PocketBook after sending the message. When the file arrives, open the story from the device’s library.
If the book does not appear, check that:
- The EPUB is attached to the email.
- The recipient is the correct
@pbsync.comaddress. - Your sending address is on the approved list.
- The PocketBook has finished syncing.
Alternative: Copy the story over USB
You can transfer the EPUB from a computer with a USB cable instead.
Connect the PocketBook to the computer, open the device’s storage, and copy the EPUB onto it. Once the transfer is complete, disconnect the device safely and open the story on the e-reader.
This method is useful if you prefer not to use Send-to-PocketBook or the emailed file has not arrived.
