How to Read stck.me Stories on a Kobo E-Reader

To read a stck.me story on a Kobo e-reader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and transfer the file to your Kobo. Kobo e-readers open EPUB files natively.

Download the stck.me story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a free web tool that does not require installation. Start with the link to the story you want to download. Each stck.me author has a separate site, and story URLs follow this pattern:

https://author.stck.me/story/123/title

To download the story:

  1. Open the stck.me story downloader.
  2. Paste the story link into the box.
  3. Sign in with your stck.me account.
  4. Choose EPUB as the output format.
  5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
  6. Download the EPUB.

WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It downloads the chapters your account can already read. It does not buy stories, follow authors, bypass paywalls, or unlock restricted chapters.

Paid or follower-only chapters that your account cannot read remain locked. The EPUB shows a notice in place of each unavailable chapter.

See the stck.me download guide for more help with downloading the file.

Put the EPUB on your Kobo with USB

You can copy the EPUB directly from a computer to your Kobo:

  1. Connect your Kobo e-reader to your computer with a USB cable.
  2. Wait for the Kobo to appear as a drive.
  3. Open the Kobo drive.
  4. Copy the downloaded EPUB onto it.
  5. Eject the Kobo safely.
  6. Disconnect it from the computer.

The story will appear in your Kobo library.

WP Downloader cannot add newly published chapters to an existing EPUB. To get the latest chapters available to your account, download the story again.

Add the story through Dropbox

Kobo supports non-protected EPUB and PDF files through Dropbox on software version 4.18 or later. This option is available on these models:

  • Kobo Forma
  • Kobo Sage
  • Kobo Elipsa
  • Kobo Elipsa 2E
  • Kobo Libra Colour

Link your Dropbox account from the e-reader, put the EPUB in the Kobo cloud folder, and sync the device. The story will then appear on that Kobo.

Books transferred through Dropbox appear only on the device where you added them.

Add the story through Google Drive

Google Drive transfers require Kobo software version 4.37 or later and one of these models:

  • Kobo Forma
  • Kobo Sage
  • Kobo Elipsa
  • Kobo Elipsa 2E
  • Kobo Libra Colour

To connect Google Drive and add the story:

  1. Choose More on the Kobo home screen.
  2. Open My Google Drive.
  3. Choose Get Started.
  4. Enter the displayed code on the Kobo website.
  5. Put the EPUB in the linked cloud folder.
  6. Sync your Kobo.

The story will appear on the Kobo after it syncs. Books transferred through Google Drive appear only on the device where you added them.

Choose EPUB or PDF

EPUB is the simplest format for reading a stck.me story on Kobo. Kobo opens EPUB files natively, and WP Downloader provides EPUB downloads free to everyone.

WP Downloader can also create a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

For other ways to keep a story available without returning to its stck.me page, see the guide to reading stck.me stories offline. There is also a separate guide to sending stck.me stories to Kindle.
