How to read Sam & Jack stories on a flight without Wi-Fi

Download the Sam & Jack story before your flight and save the EPUB or PDF on the device you are taking. Once the file is stored on that device, you can open it without an internet connection.

Download the story before your flight

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. Use it while you still have internet access.

1. Open the Sam & Jack downloader.
2. Copy the story link from samandjack.net. It should look like this:

3. Paste the link into WP Downloader.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone, while PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the file to the device you will take on the flight.

WP Downloader saves the whole Sam & Jack story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories.

You can download public stories without signing in. For a members-only story, you can sign in with your Sam & Jack account so WP Downloader can fetch content that account is allowed to read. Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested. The tool does not bypass access restrictions.

Choose a format for your device

Phone or tablet

Download an EPUB if you plan to use an EPUB reader. Choose PDF if you use a PDF reader, keeping in mind that PDF creation requires a free Discord sign-in.

Make sure the file is stored on the phone or tablet. Open it before leaving so you know it is available offline.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Download the EPUB and send it to your Kindle before the flight. Amazon accepts EPUB and PDF files through the Send to Kindle app, its web service, or an email sent to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.

Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library. It can then appear on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app. Delivery requires an internet connection, so wait for it to finish before turning on airplane mode.

When sending the file by email, use an address on your approved sender list. Send to Kindle no longer accepts MOBI files. WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files.

Kobo

Download the story as an EPUB and put it on your Kobo before you leave. The Sam & Jack Kobo guide explains the steps.

Laptop

Save the EPUB or PDF on the laptop and open it before your trip. This confirms that the file is stored locally and opens in your reading app.

Test the file in airplane mode

Check the story before going to the airport:

1. Confirm that the EPUB or PDF is stored on the device you are taking.
2. Open the story in your reading app.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close the file, open it again, and move through several parts of the story.
5. If you are using Kindle, confirm that the book has appeared on the e-reader or in the Kindle app.

If the story opens again in airplane mode, it will be available during the flight.

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. If the Sam & Jack story gains more chapters, download it again to get a new file.
