A MediaMiner story link looks like this:
https://www.mediaminer.org/fanfic/s/category-name/story-title/123456 WP Downloader downloads the entire story. It does not download individual chapters or story lists. The tool only downloads content that is available to read and does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.
EPUB is free for everyone. Creating a PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. MOBI, AZW3, and TXT are not available.
See how to download MediaMiner stories for more details about the download process.
Choose EPUB or PDF
EPUB is usually the more flexible option for reading a story as an ebook. Compatible reading apps can show the chapter structure and adjust the text to fit the screen.
PDF uses a fixed page layout. It may suit you if you already have a preferred PDF reader, though fixed pages can be less comfortable to read on a small phone screen.
If you are unsure, try EPUB first. You can download the story again as a PDF if you prefer that format.
Read offline on a phone
Download the EPUB or PDF to your phone and open the saved file in a compatible reading app.
Your phone may ask which app you want to use. If it does not, find the file in your downloads and open it from there. Once the book is imported or saved locally, briefly turn off your internet connection and open it again to check that it is available offline.
Keep the downloaded file if you may want to move it to another device later.
Read offline on a tablet
The steps are similar on a tablet:
- Download the story from WP Downloader.
- Find the EPUB or PDF in your downloaded files.
- Open it in a compatible ebook or PDF reader.
- Check that the file is stored on the tablet before going offline.
A tablet’s larger screen may make a PDF more comfortable to read. EPUB is still useful when you want the text to adjust to the display.
Read offline on an e-reader
First download the MediaMiner story to a phone, tablet, or computer. You can then transfer the EPUB to your e-reader using a method supported by the device.
The steps vary by e-reader. For a Kindle, follow how to send MediaMiner stories to Kindle. Kobo users can follow the guide to reading MediaMiner stories on Kobo.
WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files. Choose EPUB when using an e-reader guide that works with that format.
Open the story on your e-reader before leaving home or disconnecting from the internet, and check that the chapters are available.
Read offline on a computer
Choose EPUB if your computer has a compatible ebook reader. Choose PDF if you prefer to use a PDF reader.
Save the downloaded file somewhere easy to find. Open it once while you still have internet access and check that the story displays correctly. You can then read the saved book without returning to MediaMiner.
You can also keep a backup copy or transfer the file to another device later.
Get newly published chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already downloaded. If the author publishes more chapters, paste the story link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy.
The new file will contain the version of the story available when you download it. You can delete the older copy if you no longer need it.
