How to Read Inkitt Stories on a Flight Without Wi-Fi

Download the Inkitt story before you leave and save it on the device you will use during the flight. Once the EPUB or PDF is on your device, you can open it without an internet connection. Test it in airplane mode before boarding.

Download the story before your flight

WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything. You will need an internet connection and an Inkitt account that can read the story.

1. Open the Inkitt downloader.
2. Copy the Inkitt story URL. It should look like this:

3. Paste the URL into the box.
4. Sign in with your Inkitt email address and password when prompted.
5. Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
6. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
7. Download the file to the device you will use during the flight.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story, not individual chapters. It uses your Inkitt credentials only to fetch the story you requested and downloads only what your account can already read. It does not bypass locked chapters, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Set up your reading device

Make sure the EPUB or PDF is stored on your device, or delivered to its library, before you lose your internet connection.

Phone or tablet

Open the downloaded file in a reading app that supports its format. Use EPUB if your reading app supports it, or PDF with a PDF reader.

Open the book itself and check that you can move through it. Seeing the file in your downloads folder does not confirm that your reading app can open it.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Amazon’s Send to Kindle service accepts EPUB and PDF files. You can send the book by email to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address, with the Send to Kindle app, or through the Send to Kindle website.

Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library. It can then appear on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app. Delivery needs an internet connection, so send the file before your flight and confirm that it has arrived.

When sending the file by email, use an address on your approved sender list. Send to Kindle no longer accepts MOBI files, and WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files. Follow the Inkitt to Kindle guide before you leave.

Kobo

Laptop

Download the EPUB or PDF to your laptop and open it in an app that supports the format. Save the file somewhere you can reach without using a browser tab or online account.

Test the book in airplane mode

Test your setup while you still have internet access.

1. Finish downloading or transferring the book.
2. Wait for any Kindle delivery to finish.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Open your reading app.
5. Open the story and move through several chapters.
6. If you included images, check that they appear in the book.

If the story does not open, turn off airplane mode and finish the download, transfer, or delivery. Then test it again.

Keep the file on your device until your trip is over. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. If Inkitt adds chapters later, download the whole story again to get the updated version.
