How to Read FictionAlley Stories in the Kindle App

To read a FictionAlley Archive story in the Kindle app, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and send the file to your Kindle library.

What you need

Find the FictionAlley Archive page for the story you want to read. Its URL will look like this:

https://www.fictionalley-archive.org/authors/drt/DA.html

You also need the Kindle app on your phone or tablet and access to Amazon’s Send to Kindle service.

FictionAlley does not require an account. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install any software.

Step 1: Download the FictionAlley story

Open the FictionAlley downloader, then paste the story URL into the box. WP Downloader detects the site and downloads the whole story.

Choose EPUB to send the story to your Kindle library. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and you can include the story’s images.

For FictionAlley, WP Downloader handles whole stories only. It cannot download individual chapters or lists. If new chapters are added later, download the whole story again to create a new EPUB. WPD cannot update a file you already downloaded.

See how to download FictionAlley stories for a fuller walkthrough.

Step 2: Send the EPUB to your Kindle library

Amazon’s Send to Kindle service accepts EPUB files and converts them for Kindle. You can send the downloaded file in three ways:

  • Upload it through Send to Kindle on the web.
  • Use the Send to Kindle app.
  • Email it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.

Files sent by email must come from an approved sender address.

Amazon also accepts PDF files. WP Downloader provides EPUB downloads without a sign-in, while PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files. Neither format is needed here because Send to Kindle accepts EPUB. Amazon no longer accepts MOBI through Send to Kindle.

For more details, read the Send to Kindle guide or the guide to sending FictionAlley stories to Kindle.

Step 3: Open the story in the Kindle app

After Amazon converts the EPUB, the book appears in your Kindle library. Open the Kindle app on your phone or tablet, find the story in the library, and open it.

If the story does not appear, check that you sent the EPUB to the same Kindle library used by the app. When sending by email, make sure you used an approved sender address.

FictionAlley support and limits

FictionAlley Archive stories are in English, and no site sign-in is needed. Support for FictionAlley and the other fiction archives available through WPD was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader licensed under Apache-2.0.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story at the link you provide. It does not support single-chapter FictionAlley downloads.
