Read FanficAuthors Stories on a Barnes & Noble NOOK

To read a FanficAuthors story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. EPUB downloads are free, and you do not need a FanficAuthors account. Once the file is on your NOOK, you can read it offline.

Download the story as an EPUB

WP Downloader is a web tool, so you do not need to install anything. Start with the link to the story you want to read.

FanficAuthors stories are hosted on subdomains of fanficauthors.net. A story URL usually looks like this:

To download the story:

1. Open the FanficAuthors downloader.
2. Paste the story URL into the box.
3. Wait while WP Downloader detects the site and processes the story.
4. Choose EPUB as the output format.
5. If you want the story’s images in the book, turn on the option to include them.
6. Download the finished EPUB.

EPUB is free for everyone. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. Use EPUB for the NOOK transfer below.

For FanficAuthors, WP Downloader downloads the complete story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories. If the author adds more chapters, download the story again to create a new EPUB with the latest available version. WPD cannot add chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded.

You do not need to sign in to FanficAuthors. WP Downloader retrieves the story at the link you provide and does not bypass access restrictions. Its support for FanficAuthors and other fiction archives was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.

Connect your NOOK to your computer

Barnes & Noble calls copying your own files to a NOOK “sideloading.” On NOOK GlowLight models, you can sideload an EPUB over USB.

Connect the NOOK to your computer with its USB cable. It should appear as a drive named “NOOK.”

On newer models, change the USB setting so the computer can access the device:

1. Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
2. Tap “USB for charging.”
3. Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”

You can then open the NOOK drive on your computer.

Copy the EPUB to your NOOK

Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader and drag it onto the NOOK drive. Wait for the copy to finish.

Eject the NOOK from your computer before unplugging the USB cable. You can then open the EPUB on your NOOK and read the FanficAuthors story offline.

If the transfer does not work

If the NOOK charges but its files do not appear on your computer, check its USB setting. On a newer model, swipe down from the top of the screen, tap “USB for charging,” and choose “Transfer files (MTP).”

If you need another copy of the EPUB, return to the FanficAuthors downloader and download the story again. Use the same process when new chapters have been published since your previous download.

Do I need a FanficAuthors account?

No. Paste the FanficAuthors story link into WP Downloader and choose EPUB. You do not need to sign in.

Can I download only one chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads the whole FanficAuthors story. It cannot download individual chapters or lists of stories from this archive.
