How to Read a Chireads Story on a reMarkable Tablet

First, use WP Downloader to save the complete Chireads story as an EPUB or PDF. You can then transfer the file to your reMarkable with its desktop or mobile app, through a web browser, or over USB.

WP Downloader is a free web tool, so there is nothing to install. Chireads stories are in French, and downloading one does not require a Chireads account.

Download the Chireads story with WP Downloader

Open the Chireads downloader. In another browser tab, find the story on chireads.com and copy its address.

A Chireads story URL looks like this:

Paste the address into WP Downloader. The tool will detect the site and let you choose a format:

EPUB is free for everyone.
PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

reMarkable tablets support both formats for files up to 100 MB. WP Downloader also gives you the option to include the story’s images.

For Chireads, WP Downloader saves the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a story list, and it does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Choose EPUB or PDF for your reMarkable

Either format will work on a reMarkable tablet. EPUB is available without signing in, while PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

Save the finished file somewhere easy to find, such as your phone’s downloads or a folder on your computer. You can then transfer it with one of the methods below.

Transfer the story with the reMarkable app

You can add EPUB and PDF files through the reMarkable desktop or mobile app.

From a computer

Download the Chireads story with WP Downloader.
Open the reMarkable desktop app.
Add the EPUB or PDF file to your reMarkable library.
Once the file appears on your tablet, open it to start reading.

From a phone

Transfer the story over USB

For a wired transfer, use the tablet’s USB web interface.

Connect the reMarkable tablet to your computer with a USB cable.
Turn on the USB web interface in the tablet’s storage settings.
Open a browser on the connected computer.

Upload the EPUB or PDF you downloaded from WP Downloader.
Open the transferred story on your tablet.

The exact location of the USB web interface setting varies between reMarkable software versions. If the menu on your tablet looks different, check its storage settings.

Getting newly published chapters

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded. When a Chireads story gets new chapters, paste its link into the downloader again and save a new copy of the whole story.

Transfer the new file to your reMarkable with the app, a web browser, or USB.
