How to Read Chireads Stories on Android
First, use WP Downloader to save the complete Chireads story as an EPUB. You can then open the file on your Android phone or tablet with Google Play Books, Moon+ Reader, or another EPUB reader.
Download the Chireads story
WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything or sign in to Chireads. Chireads stories are written in French.
Open the Chireads Downloader and copy the address of the story you want from chireads.com. A Chireads story link looks like this:
https://chireads.com/category/translatedtales/story-namePaste the link into WP Downloader. It will detect that the story comes from Chireads and prepare it for download.
Choose EPUB to open the story in an Android reading app. EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF is also available after a free Discord sign-in. If the story has images, you can include them in the download.
WP Downloader downloads complete Chireads stories. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories, and it does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Read the EPUB in Google Play Books
Google Play Books accepts your own DRM-free EPUB and PDF files. Once you upload a book, you can read it on Android, the web, or an iPhone or iPad.
To upload the Chireads EPUB from Android, open the Google Play Books app and choose its upload option. Select the EPUB file you downloaded from WP Downloader, wait for the upload to finish, and open the book.
You can also upload the EPUB through the Play Books website on a computer. Choose a file from your computer or Google Drive, then sign in to the same Google account in the Android app to find the story.
Very large books may reach Google’s upload size limit. If an upload fails for this reason, open the EPUB in an app that reads files directly from your device.
Read the EPUB in Moon+ Reader
Moon+ Reader opens EPUB files on Android. Open the file you downloaded from WP Downloader in the app to start reading.
The app also has a built-in text-to-speech mode for reading the story aloud. It uses the text-to-speech voices installed on your device, so the sound depends on the voices available in your Android settings.
Listen with Android accessibility tools
Android’s Select to Speak feature reads items on the screen aloud. Turn it on in Settings, then Accessibility, and use it on the text displayed in your reading app.
You can also open the EPUB in @Voice Aloud Reader, an Android app that reads EPUB files aloud. Like Moon+ Reader, it uses your device’s text-to-speech voices.
These options read the text aloud while the file is open. They do not produce a separate audiobook file.
Download newly published chapters
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When a Chireads story is updated, paste its link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy.
Keep the new file separate until you have checked that it contains the chapters you want. You can then open or upload it in your preferred Android reading app.
