How to read a Chaos (Sycophant Hex) story on PocketBook

To read a Chaos story on a PocketBook e-reader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and transfer the file by email or USB. PocketBook reads EPUB files directly, so you do not need to convert the story.

What you need

Have these ready:

• The Chaos story link
• A phone or computer with access to WP Downloader
• Your PocketBook e-reader

WP Downloader is a free web tool, so there is nothing to install. You do not need to sign in to download stories from Chaos.

Step 1: Copy the Chaos story link

Open the story on chaos.sycophanthex.com and copy the URL from your browser’s address bar. It should look like this:

Copy the main story page. WP Downloader downloads complete stories from Chaos, not individual chapters or lists.

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader

Open the Chaos story downloader, paste the link into the box, and let WP Downloader detect the site and prepare the story.

Choose a format:

• EPUB is free for everyone and works on PocketBook e-readers.
• PDF also works on PocketBook, but you need a free Discord sign-in to download it.

You can choose whether to include the story’s images. When the download is ready, save the file to your phone or computer.

Step 3: Set up Send-to-PocketBook

Send-to-PocketBook gives your reader an email address for receiving books wirelessly.

On your PocketBook:

1. Open Settings.
2. Select Accounts and synchronization.
3. Choose Send-to-PocketBook.
4. Sign in and follow the setup instructions.
5. Open the activation email and complete the activation.

You will receive a personal PocketBook address ending in @pbsync.com.

Step 4: Email the EPUB to your PocketBook

Create an email from your usual account and send it to your personal @pbsync.com address. Attach the EPUB from WP Downloader before sending the message.

The service may ask you to approve or whitelist the sending address. If the file does not arrive, check that your email address is on the approved list.

Sync your PocketBook after sending the email. The story should then appear on the reader for offline reading.

Another option: Transfer the story over USB

You can copy the EPUB or PDF directly from a computer:

1. Connect the PocketBook to your computer with a USB cable.
2. Open the PocketBook’s storage.
3. Copy the downloaded story file to the reader.
4. Safely disconnect the PocketBook.
5. Open the story from its library.

USB is a useful alternative if you do not want to set up Send-to-PocketBook or the emailed file has not appeared.

Getting newer chapters

WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the author adds chapters, return to the Chaos downloader, paste the story link again, and download a new copy of the complete story. Transfer the new file to your PocketBook by email or USB.
