How to Read Chaos Stories on a Boox

To read a Chaos story offline on your Boox, download the complete story as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader. You can then copy the file over USB or open it from Google Drive.

Download a Chaos story with WP Downloader

WP Downloader is a free web tool that works without an installation. It supports English-language stories from Chaos at chaos.sycophanthex.com, and you do not need a Chaos account.

A Chaos story link looks like this:

To download a story:

1. Open the story on Chaos and copy its URL.
2. Go to the Chaos story downloader.
3. Paste the URL into the download box.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the file to your device.

Anyone can create an EPUB for free. Creating a PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

WP Downloader saves the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from Chaos. If the author publishes more chapters, download the story again to get a new copy. The tool cannot add those chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded.

Choose EPUB or PDF

Boox e-readers run Android. Their built-in reader opens EPUB and PDF files, and you can also use other Android reading apps.

EPUB is usually a convenient format for fiction and does not require you to sign in to WP Downloader. Choose PDF if you prefer it and are willing to use the free Discord sign-in.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. A Boox can read either of the formats it does provide.

Copy the story over USB

You can transfer the downloaded book directly from a computer to your Boox:

1. Download the Chaos story as an EPUB or PDF on your computer.
2. Connect your Boox to the computer with USB.
3. Open the Boox storage on the computer.
4. Copy the story file to the device.
5. Disconnect the Boox when the transfer finishes.
6. Find the file on your Boox and open it in the built-in reader or another installed Android reading app.

After the file is on the device, you can read it offline.

Open the story from Google Drive

Google Drive gives you another way to move the file to your Boox:

1. Download the EPUB or PDF on your phone or computer.
2. Add the file to Google Drive.
3. Open Google Drive on your Boox.
4. Find and open the story file.
5. If prompted, choose the built-in reader or another Android reading app.

Before going offline, check that the file is available on your Boox.

Get new chapters

WP Downloader creates a new file each time you download a story. It cannot update an existing EPUB.

When a Chaos story gets new chapters, return to the Chaos downloader, paste the story link again, and download a new copy. Transfer that file to your Boox over USB or through Google Drive.
