How to Read Chaos (Sycophant Hex) Stories Offline

To read a Chaos story offline, download it with WP Downloader and save the EPUB or PDF to your device. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything.

Download a Chaos story

Find the story on chaos.sycophanthex.com. Its address should look like this:

http://chaos.sycophanthex.com/viewstory.php?sid=1234

Copy the address from your browser, then:

1. Open the Chaos story downloader.
2. Paste the story link into the box.
3. Choose EPUB or PDF.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the file to your device.

You do not need a Chaos account or sign-in. WP Downloader downloads the whole story, not an individual chapter or a list.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Read on a phone or tablet

Download the EPUB or PDF to your phone or tablet, or transfer it from another device. Once the file is saved locally, open it with an app that supports the format.

For an EPUB:

1. Find the downloaded file.
2. Tap it and choose an EPUB reading app.
3. Import the file if the app asks.
4. Open the book before going offline to confirm that it works.

Open a PDF with a PDF reader. If your browser asks where to save the file, choose a location you can find again. You may find it helpful to keep downloaded stories in one folder.

Read on an e-reader

Choose EPUB if your e-reader or its companion app accepts EPUB files. After downloading the story:

1. Save the EPUB somewhere easy to find.
2. Transfer or import it to your e-reader.
3. Open the book and check that its chapters appear.

Read on a computer

Download the EPUB or PDF to your computer. Open the EPUB with an EPUB reading app or the PDF with a PDF reader.

Before going offline:

1. Open the downloaded book.
2. Check that the title and chapters are present.
3. Check a few pages and any images you chose to include.
4. Save the file in a folder you can find later.

After the file is saved and opens correctly, you can read it without returning to the Chaos website.

Get newly published chapters

The downloaded file contains the version of the story available when you created it. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB.

To get later chapters, paste the story link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy. You can replace the older file or keep both copies.

Do I need a Chaos account?

No. You can download Chaos stories without signing in.

Can I download only one chapter?

No. WP Downloader downloads whole Chaos stories only. It does not download individual chapters or lists from this site.

Which format should I choose for offline reading?

Choose EPUB for an e-reader or EPUB reading app. Choose PDF if you prefer that format and are willing to use the required free Discord sign-in.
