Put a TG Storytime Story on a Kindle With calibre and USB
You can put a TG Storytime story on a Kindle without uploading it to Amazon. First, download the story as an EPUB with WP Downloader. You can then use calibre to convert it to AZW3 and copy it directly to your Kindle over USB.
What you need
Have these ready:
- The TG Storytime story page
- A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
- calibre, the free e-book manager
- A USB cable for your Kindle
- Your Kindle e-reader
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything for the download. calibre is the desktop application used to organize, convert, and transfer the book.
Step 1: Copy the TG Storytime story link
Open the story on tgstorytime.com and copy its URL from your browser. A TG Storytime story link looks like this:

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the TG Storytime downloader and paste the link into the box. WP Downloader will recognize the site and prepare the story.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and can be used as the source file in calibre. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
You do not need to sign in for public stories. If a story is available only to members, you can sign in with your TG Storytime account. WP Downloader can only fetch content that your account is allowed to read. It does not bypass account requirements, age restrictions, or locked content, and it uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested.
Save the finished EPUB somewhere easy to find, such as your downloads folder.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select “Add books.” Find the EPUB from WP Downloader and add it to your calibre library.
Select the book in the library. You can edit its metadata or cover before transferring it, or leave it as downloaded.
You can also open the EPUB in calibre’s e-book viewer to check it before conversion. The viewer has a “Read aloud” feature if you want to listen on your computer.
Step 4: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
WP Downloader does not create MOBI or AZW3 files, but calibre can convert the EPUB to either format.
Select the story in calibre, choose the conversion option, and set AZW3 as the output format. Start the conversion and wait for calibre to finish.
AZW3 is a Kindle format that can be transferred over USB. Kindles also open MOBI files copied over USB. Only Amazon’s Send to Kindle service has stopped accepting MOBI files. This guide uses AZW3.
Step 5: Connect the Kindle and transfer the story
Connect your Kindle to the computer with its USB cable. After calibre recognizes the device, select the TG Storytime story and choose “Send to device.”
calibre will copy the converted book to the Kindle. When the transfer is complete, disconnect the Kindle from the computer. You can now read the story offline without using Amazon’s Send to Kindle service.

Update the story later
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When the TG Storytime story is updated, download the whole story again.
Add the new EPUB to calibre, convert it to AZW3, and transfer the updated book to your Kindle over USB.

Do I need Send to Kindle for this method?
No. calibre copies the converted book directly to a connected Kindle over USB, so it does not go through Amazon’s Send to Kindle service.
Can WP Downloader create an AZW3 file?
No. WP Downloader creates EPUB files for free and PDF files with a free Discord sign-in. Download the EPUB and convert it to AZW3 with calibre.
Why use AZW3 instead of MOBI?
Both formats work when copied to a Kindle over USB. This guide uses AZW3. The restriction on MOBI applies only to Amazon’s Send to Kindle service.
Can I download a members-only TG Storytime story?
Yes, if your TG Storytime account can read it. Signing in is optional and gives WP Downloader access to members-only stories available to your account.
