Put an Occlumency Story on Kindle With Calibre
You can put an Occlumency story on a Kindle without Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. First, use WP Downloader to save the story as an EPUB. You can then add the file to calibre, convert it to AZW3, and transfer it to your Kindle over USB.
What you need
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- The Occlumency story link
- A computer running Windows, macOS, or Linux
- The free calibre e-book manager
- Your Kindle and a USB connection
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything for the download. Calibre manages the book on your computer, converts it to a Kindle format, and transfers it to the device.
Step 1: Copy the Occlumency story link
Open the story on occlumency.sycophanthex.com and copy its URL from your browser. An Occlumency story link looks like this:

Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the Occlumency downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader detects that the link is from Occlumency and prepares the story.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and calibre can convert the file to a Kindle format. You can also choose to include the story’s images.
Signing in to your Occlumency account is optional. If you sign in, WP Downloader can fetch members-only stories that your account is allowed to read. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested and cannot bypass locked access.

Step 3: Add the EPUB to calibre
Open calibre and select “Add books,” then choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
The story will appear in your calibre library. You can edit its metadata or cover before transferring it, though this is optional.
Calibre’s e-book viewer can open the EPUB so you can check it before conversion. The viewer also has a Read aloud feature for listening on your computer.
Step 4: Convert the EPUB to AZW3
Select the Occlumency story in your calibre library and open calibre’s conversion tool. Set the output format to AZW3 and start the conversion.
WP Downloader does not create AZW3 or MOBI files. It supplies the EPUB, which calibre can convert to a Kindle format.
AZW3 works on Kindle devices when transferred over USB. Kindles can also open compatible MOBI files copied over USB. Amazon’s Send to Kindle service no longer accepts MOBI, but that change does not affect MOBI or AZW3 files transferred directly to the device.
Step 5: Connect your Kindle and transfer the story
Connect your Kindle to the computer with a USB cable. Select the converted story in calibre and choose “Send to device.”
Calibre will transfer the Kindle-compatible file to the connected e-reader. Once the transfer is complete, disconnect the Kindle and open the story on the device.

Update a story with new chapters
WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the author adds chapters, download the complete story again. Add the new EPUB to calibre, then convert and transfer it again.
You can follow the same process for several stories. Download each complete story, add the EPUB files to calibre, and convert the ones you want to transfer.
