How to put EFP Fanfic stories on a Kindle with calibre
You can put an EFP Fanfic story on a Kindle without Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. Download the complete story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, add it to calibre, convert it to AZW3, and transfer it to your Kindle over USB.
You will need a computer for calibre, which is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. WP Downloader runs in your web browser, so you do not need to install anything for the download.
Download the EFP Fanfic story with WP Downloader
Open the EFP Fanfic downloader and copy the address of the story you want from efpfanfic.net. A story address looks like this:

Choose EPUB for calibre. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and you can choose whether to include the story’s images.

Add the EPUB to calibre
Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. After installing and opening it:
- Select “Add books.”
- Find the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Add it to your calibre library.
- Select the story in the library.
You can edit the book’s metadata and cover before converting it. This step is optional, but it lets you change how the story appears in calibre and on your Kindle.
Calibre also has an e-book viewer. You can use it to check the EPUB before transferring it or listen on your computer with the viewer’s Read aloud feature.
Convert the EPUB to AZW3
WP Downloader creates EPUB and PDF files, but it does not create MOBI or AZW3 files. Calibre can convert the downloaded EPUB to a Kindle format.
Select the story in calibre, open the conversion options, and choose AZW3 as the output format. Start the conversion. Calibre will add the converted file to the book’s library entry when it finishes.
AZW3 works with Kindle e-readers over USB. Calibre can also convert EPUB files to MOBI or PDF.
Connect the Kindle and send the story
Connect your Kindle e-reader to the computer with a USB cable. Once calibre detects it:
- Select the EFP Fanfic story in your calibre library.
- Choose “Send to device.”
- Wait for calibre to copy the converted book to the Kindle.
- Disconnect the Kindle after the transfer finishes, then open the story from its library.
Both the conversion and transfer take place through calibre, so this method does not use Amazon’s Send to Kindle service.
Kindles can still open MOBI and AZW3 files copied over USB. Amazon stopped accepting MOBI through Send to Kindle, but that change does not affect compatible MOBI or AZW3 files transferred directly to the device.
