Download the Chaos story with WP Downloader

To download one:

1. Open the Chaos story downloader.
2. Paste the story’s link into the box.
3. Choose EPUB or PDF.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the finished file.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. You do not need a Chaos account. For this site, WP Downloader saves the whole story and does not download individual chapters or lists.

If the author adds more chapters, download the story again. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already imported.

Add the story to Apple Books on iPhone or iPad

After downloading the EPUB or PDF:

1. Open the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Find the downloaded story.

4. Choose Books.

The imported file will appear in your Apple Books Library. If you cannot find the download at first, check the folder Safari uses for downloaded files.

Add the story to Apple Books on Mac

Open the Books app on your Mac, then use either method:

• Drag the EPUB file into the Books app.
• Choose File, then Add to Library, and select the file.

The story will appear in your Library. Apple Books can open EPUB and PDF files on Mac.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work

Apple Books Reading Goals track:

• How many minutes you read each day
• How many books and audiobooks you finish each year

The default daily goal is five minutes. You can change it from the Reading Now tab on an iPhone or iPad, or from Home on a Mac.

For a downloaded Chaos story, the file format affects what you need to check.

PDF files

PDF reading counts toward your goal only when Include PDFs is turned on.

On current versions of iOS:

1. Open Settings.
2. Choose Apps.
3. Choose Books.
4. Turn on Include PDFs.

On older versions, go to Settings, then Books.

Once the setting is enabled, open the imported PDF in Apple Books and read it there. Reading done while Include PDFs was turned off may not have contributed to your goal.

Imported EPUB files

Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. A short test on your device is the best way to check.

Check whether your Chaos EPUB counts

Note today’s reading time in Apple Books before opening the story. Then:

1. Open the imported Chaos EPUB in Apple Books.
2. Read for one or two minutes.
3. Return to Reading Now on an iPhone or iPad, or Home on a Mac.
4. Check whether today’s reading time increased.

If the total increases, Apple Books is recording the imported EPUB toward your daily goal on that device. If it stays the same, the reading session may not have counted.

You can repeat this test with a PDF after confirming that Include PDFs is enabled.

EPUB is a simple choice for reading a downloaded story in Apple Books, though Apple does not document how Reading Goals handle EPUB files you import yourself.

PDF has a specific setting you can check. If you want to track the reading session, enable Include PDFs and confirm that the daily total increases after a short test.
