Do Asianfanfics Stories Count Toward Apple Books Reading Goals?

You can add a downloaded Asianfanfics story to Apple Books and read it on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. PDFs can count toward Reading Goals when Include PDFs is enabled. Apple does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count, so you will need to check the reading time after opening the story.

Download an Asianfanfics story

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. It can download a complete Asianfanfics story as an EPUB or PDF.

Copy the story’s Asianfanfics URL. It should look like this:

https://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/123456

Then:

1. Open the Asianfanfics downloader.
2. Paste the story URL into the box.
3. Choose EPUB or PDF.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the file.

EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. You do not need to sign in to Asianfanfics.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story from Asianfanfics. It cannot download a single chapter or a list. It also cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. If the author publishes more chapters, paste the link into WP Downloader again and download a new copy.

Asianfanfics support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader.

Add the story to Apple Books

Apple Books opens EPUB and PDF files on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. After you import the story, it appears in your Library.

On iPhone or iPad

1. Find the downloaded file in the Files app or Safari’s downloads.
2. Open the Share menu.
3. Choose Books.

Apple Books will open and add the story to your Library.

On Mac

Open the Books app and drag the EPUB into it. You can also select File, then Add to Library, and choose the downloaded file.

The story will appear in your Apple Books Library.

How Apple Books Reading Goals work

Apple Books tracks how many minutes you read each day and how many books and audiobooks you finish each year. The daily goal is five minutes by default.

On an iPhone or iPad, you can change the daily goal from the Reading Now tab. On a Mac, change it from Home.

Do imported Asianfanfics EPUBs count?

Apple’s documentation does not say whether EPUB files you import yourself count toward daily reading time. Check the result in the app:

1. Note today’s reading time in Apple Books.
2. Open the imported Asianfanfics EPUB.
3. Read for a minute or two.
4. Return to Reading Goals.
5. Check whether today’s reading time increased.

If the time goes up, Apple Books is counting the imported EPUB on your device and current app setup.

Do Asianfanfics PDFs count?

PDF reading counts toward your goal only when Include PDFs is turned on.

On current versions of iOS, open Settings, Apps, then Books and enable Include PDFs. On older versions, open Settings, then Books.

After enabling it, note your current reading time, read the imported PDF for a minute or two, and check whether the total increases.

Choose between EPUB and PDF

Both formats open in Apple Books and appear in your Library. EPUB is free for everyone through WP Downloader. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in, and Include PDFs must be enabled for PDF reading to count toward your goal.

For more help downloading the file, see the full Asianfanfics download guide.
