How to Back Up Syosetu Stories

Authors and sites can edit, unpublish, or delete stories. You can keep a personal copy of a Shousetsuka ni Narou story by downloading it as an EPUB or PDF with WP Downloader. Download a Syosetu story with WP Downloader

What the saved file contains

An EPUB or PDF is a separate copy of the story as it appeared when you downloaded it. The file will not change if the author later edits a chapter, adds chapters, unpublishes the work, or deletes it.

WP Downloader cannot add chapters to an existing EPUB. Paste the story link into WP Downloader again whenever you want a newer copy. You can keep the older file too if you want snapshots from different dates.

Keep more than one copy

Avoid storing your only copy in one place. Keep the original EPUB or PDF in a folder you recognize, then save another copy on a second device.

Clear filenames will help as your collection grows. When you download a newer version of an ongoing story, name the files so you can tell them apart. WP Downloader creates a new book each time and does not replace or update an earlier EPUB.

EPUB works with reading apps and library software. PDF is also available after a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Add the EPUB to your phone or tablet

Open or import the saved EPUB with an app that supports EPUB files. Keep the original download even if the app creates another copy in its library.

If you downloaded the story on a computer, move the EPUB to the phone or tablet where you plan to read it. Open the book once after adding it to your reading app to confirm that the text is available offline.

Organize Syosetu downloads with calibre

Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It can help you manage a larger personal library.

In calibre:

1. Select Add books and choose the downloaded EPUB.
2. Edit its metadata or cover if needed.
3. Open it in calibre’s e-book viewer.
4. Use the viewer’s Read aloud feature to listen.
5. Connect an e-reader by USB to send the book to that device.

Calibre can also convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. This lets you create a format that WP Downloader does not provide directly. Keep the original EPUB along with any converted copies.

Put the story on an e-reader
