How to Back Up Occlumency Stories
Authors and archive sites can edit, unpublish, or delete stories. To keep a personal copy of an Occlumency story, download it with WP Downloader as an EPUB or PDF. The file preserves the story as it appeared when you downloaded it.
Download an Occlumency story with WP Downloader
WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. For Occlumency, it downloads complete stories rather than individual chapters or lists.
Find the story on occlumency.sycophanthex.com. Its address should look like this:

- Copy the story URL from your browser’s address bar.
- Open the Occlumency downloader.
- Paste the URL into the box.
- Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone, while PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the finished file to your device.
You can also paste the link into the box on the WP Downloader home page. WPD will detect which site it comes from.
Signing in to Occlumency is optional. If you sign in with an account from that site, WP Downloader can fetch members-only stories that the account can read. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Treat each download as a snapshot
An EPUB or PDF contains the version of the story that was available when you downloaded it. Your copy will remain available if the author later edits, unpublishes, or deletes the story.
The file will not update when the author revises the story or publishes another chapter. Download the story again whenever you want a newer copy. WP Downloader cannot add chapters to an EPUB you already have.
You can keep the older and newer files if you want both versions. Give them clear filenames so you can tell them apart.
Keep downloaded stories for your own reading. Do not re-upload or share the files.
Store the EPUB on your phone or computer
Save the EPUB somewhere you can find again. If you read on several devices, keep an original copy on your computer or in another personal storage location instead of depending on one reading app.
EPUB works well for a personal fiction library. You can add the file to calibre, open it in calibre’s e-book viewer, or send it to a connected e-reader. You can also choose PDF when downloading.
WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. To get another e-book format, convert the downloaded EPUB with calibre.
Organize and read the story with calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can use it to organize your downloaded Occlumency stories.
To add a story:
- Open calibre on your computer.
- Choose “Add books.”
- Select the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
- Check the title, author, cover, and other metadata.
- Edit the metadata or cover if you want to change how the story appears in your library.
You can read the book offline in calibre’s e-book viewer. The viewer also has a Read aloud feature.
calibre can convert an EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, and PDF. It can also send books over USB to an e-reader connected to your computer.
Copy the story to an e-reader
Keep the original EPUB when you convert it or copy another version to an e-reader. You will still have the original file if you need it later.
