How to Add FicWad Stories to calibre
To add a FicWad story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file using Add books. You can then organize, read, convert, or transfer it like any other e-book.
What you need
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything for the download. You will need:
- The FicWad story page
- A web browser
- calibre on a Windows, macOS, or Linux computer
- A USB cable if you want to transfer the book to an e-reader
WP Downloader downloads complete FicWad stories, not individual chapters or story lists. A FicWad story link usually looks like this:

Open the FicWad downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader detects that the link is from FicWad and prepares the complete story for download.
Choose EPUB for your calibre library. EPUB is free for everyone, and calibre can read, manage, and convert it. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
You do not need to sign in for public FicWad stories. If a story is available only to members, you can sign in with your FicWad account to download content that account can already read. WP Downloader does not bypass membership restrictions, locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested.
WP Downloader can also create a PDF, though this requires a free Discord sign-in. EPUB is generally a better starting file for calibre because you can convert it later if you need another format.

Add the EPUB to calibre
Once the EPUB has downloaded, open calibre and select Add books. Choose the downloaded file to import it into your library.
The story will appear with your other e-books. Select it to see its library information or open it in calibre’s e-book viewer.
If you have downloaded several FicWad stories, add each EPUB separately. Keeping the original EPUB files in calibre gives you a consistent source for organizing your collection and creating other formats later.
Edit the metadata and cover
calibre lets you edit a book’s metadata and cover, which can help FicWad stories sort neatly within your collection.
Review details such as the title and author, then change them if you prefer a different naming style. You might use consistent capitalization and author names across your saved stories. You can also change the cover to make the book easier to spot in your library.
A consistent system becomes more useful as your collection grows, making individual stories easier to find and manage.
Read the story in calibre
calibre includes an e-book viewer, so you can open the imported EPUB and read it on your computer without moving it to another device.
The viewer also includes a Read aloud feature for listening to the story while keeping the EPUB in your local library.
Convert the EPUB to another format
WP Downloader creates EPUB and PDF files. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
If you need another format, use calibre’s conversion feature. It can convert an imported EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. By keeping the EPUB as your source file, you can make other versions without downloading the story again.
Converting the file does not unlock restricted FicWad content or retrieve new chapters.
Transfer the story over USB
Connect your e-reader to the computer with a USB cable. Once calibre recognizes it, use the option to send the book to the device.

After the transfer, find the book in your device’s library and open it for offline reading.
Update an ongoing story
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When a FicWad story is updated, download the complete story again.
Add the new EPUB to calibre, then decide whether to keep or remove the earlier copy. Check the title and other metadata before making changes so that you can tell the downloads apart and avoid confusing duplicates.
