How to add Ficbook stories to your calibre library
To add a Ficbook story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file using calibre’s Add books option. WP Downloader is free, runs in your browser, and does not require a Ficbook account.
Download a Ficbook story with WP Downloader
Open the story on ficbook.net and copy its address. Ficbook story links look like this:

Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and calibre can open and manage the files directly. You can also include the story’s images.
WP Downloader downloads the entire story from Ficbook. It does not support individual chapters or lists from this site. Ficbook stories are in Russian, and no Ficbook sign-in is needed.
You can also download a PDF after signing in with a free Discord account. EPUB is a useful choice for calibre because you can read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or convert it to another format later.

Add the EPUB to your calibre library
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. Once the EPUB is on your computer:
- Open calibre.
- Select Add books.
- Find the Ficbook EPUB you downloaded.
- Select the file and add it to your library.
The story will appear in your calibre library. You can open it in calibre’s e-book viewer and read it on your computer.
The viewer also includes a Read aloud feature, so you can listen to the story from calibre.
Edit the story details and cover
After importing the EPUB, use calibre’s metadata tools to edit its stored details and cover. This can help you recognize and organize stories in your library, especially if you have downloaded several from Ficbook.
Convert the story to another format
WP Downloader creates EPUB files and, after a free Discord sign-in, PDF files. It does not create MOBI, AZW3 or TXT files.
If you need another format, calibre can convert the imported EPUB. For example:
- EPUB to AZW3
- EPUB to MOBI
- EPUB to PDF
You can keep the original EPUB in your calibre library alongside any converted copies.
Send the story to an e-reader over USB
calibre can send books to an e-reader connected to your computer over USB. Connect the device, select the Ficbook story in your library, and use calibre’s device transfer tools.

Replace an older copy
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When a Ficbook story gains new chapters, download the entire story again from the Ficbook downloader.
Add the new EPUB to calibre, then manage the older copy as you prefer. Check the stored details so you can tell the downloads apart.

Do I need a Ficbook account?
No. You do not need to sign in to Ficbook to download a story with WP Downloader.
Can I add a Ficbook EPUB directly to calibre?
Yes. Download the story as an EPUB, open calibre, select Add books, and choose the downloaded file.
Can WP Downloader create an AZW3 or MOBI file?
No. WP Downloader outputs EPUB and PDF. You can add the EPUB to calibre and convert it to AZW3, MOBI or PDF there.
Will my EPUB receive new chapters automatically?
No. WP Downloader does not update existing EPUB files. Download the entire Ficbook story again when you want a newer copy.
Can calibre read the story aloud?
Yes. calibre’s e-book viewer includes a Read aloud feature.
