Add FanficAuthors Stories to Calibre
To add a FanficAuthors story to calibre, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and import the file using calibre’s Add books button. You can then read it, organize it, convert it, or transfer it to an e-reader. WP Downloader is free and runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install.
Download the FanficAuthors story
FanficAuthors hosts stories on subdomains of fanficauthors.net. A story link looks like this:
https://jeconais.fanficauthors.net/A_Story_Name/Copy the story link and open the FanficAuthors downloader. Paste the link into the box, and WP Downloader will detect the site.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and can be added directly to calibre. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.

Add the EPUB to your calibre library
After the EPUB downloads, open calibre on your Windows, macOS, or Linux computer.
- Select Add books in calibre.
- Find the downloaded EPUB on your computer.
- Select the file and add it.
- Check that the story appears in your calibre library.
Open the imported book in calibre’s e-book viewer to check its chapters and any images you chose to include.
Keeping the original EPUB in calibre gives you a source copy that you can read, organize, or convert for another device.
Edit the story details
Calibre’s metadata editor lets you change the story’s title, author information, cover, and other library details.
Consistent titles and author names can make a collection from several archives easier to browse. A cover can also help you recognize a story in grid view. These changes are optional, so you can read or transfer the book without editing anything.
Read the story in calibre
Calibre includes an e-book viewer for reading the downloaded story on your computer. Open the book from your library to begin.
The viewer also has a Read aloud feature if you prefer to listen while keeping the EPUB in your calibre library.
Convert the EPUB when needed
WP Downloader creates EPUB and PDF files. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
If your device or reading app needs another format, calibre can convert the EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF.
Keep the EPUB if you make another version. You can still read it in calibre or convert it again for a different device.
Send the story to an e-reader over USB
Calibre can send books to an e-reader connected to your computer by USB.
- Connect the e-reader to the computer.
- Wait for calibre to recognize it.
- Select the FanficAuthors story in your library.
- Use calibre’s option to send the book to the connected device.
- Disconnect the device after the transfer finishes.
The format you need depends on the device. If necessary, use calibre to convert the EPUB before transferring it.

Replace a story when new chapters appear
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. If a FanficAuthors story changes, download the complete story again.
