How to Track Wattpad Stories on Goodreads or The StoryGraph

You can keep track of Wattpad stories through Goodreads, The StoryGraph, or a private calibre library. Downloading an EPUB with WP Downloader gives you a copy to read and organize.

Download the Wattpad story

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install.

1. Open the Wattpad downloader.
2. Copy the Wattpad story link from your browser or the Wattpad app.
3. Paste the link into the box on WP Downloader.
4. Wait for the tool to detect Wattpad and fetch the story.
5. Choose EPUB and decide whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the finished file.

EPUB is free for everyone. You can also create a PDF after signing in with a free Discord account. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

You do not need an account to download public Wattpad stories. Signing in with your Wattpad account also lets you download paid stories your account owns and stories from your library or archive. You can download a single part, a whole story, or a Wattpad reading list.

WP Downloader only downloads material your account can already read. It cannot bypass paid access, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Download the story again if the author publishes more chapters. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already have.

Add a Wattpad story to Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are not in the Goodreads database. Search for the title and author first so you do not create a duplicate entry.

If the story is missing, Goodreads lets eligible members add a book manually at goodreads.com/book/new. Your account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. You need to provide at least the title and author.

Keep the Wattpad page open so you can copy those details accurately. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and the merging of duplicate records.

Adding a work to Goodreads is separate from downloading it. You create a database entry for the work rather than upload your EPUB as a personal copy.

Check The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph for the title and author. The story may be missing from its database, especially if it is fanfiction or an ongoing web serial.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. Check its current help pages for guidance instead of relying on unofficial steps.

If you cannot add the story, you can keep the EPUB in calibre as part of your own reading list.

Keep a private Wattpad reading list in calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It gives you a private alternative when Goodreads or The StoryGraph does not list a Wattpad story.

After installing calibre:

1. Select Add books.
2. Choose the EPUB you downloaded from WP Downloader.
3. Edit the title, author, metadata, or cover if needed.
4. Keep the file in your calibre library with your other books.

You can open the story in calibre’s e-book viewer, which has a Read aloud feature. calibre can also send books to an e-reader connected by USB.

If your device needs a different file type, calibre can convert the EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not produce AZW3 or MOBI, so you need to convert the file afterward.

Listen to the story

After you paste a single Wattpad story link into WP Downloader, a “Listen to audiobook” button appears. The button opens Audora, a sister service that turns the story into an audiobook.

This option is available only for single Wattpad stories. It does not appear for reading lists or stories from other supported sites.

Can I import a Wattpad EPUB directly into Goodreads?

No. Goodreads entries are created separately in its database. If the story is missing and your account is eligible, you can add it manually with at least the title and author.

What if the story is missing from The StoryGraph?

Check The StoryGraph’s current help pages. It does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. You can use calibre to keep a private reading list instead.

Does WP Downloader update my EPUB when new chapters appear?

No. Download the Wattpad story again to get the new chapters.

Can I download a paid Wattpad story?
