How to Track Potions and Snitches Stories on Goodreads or StoryGraph

Saving a Potions and Snitches story as an EPUB gives you an offline copy with the title and author close at hand. You can then search for the work on Goodreads or The StoryGraph, or keep a private reading list in calibre.

Download the Potions and Snitches story

WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. It supports potionsandsnitches.org and potionsandsnitches.net, and no Potions and Snitches account is required.

1. Open the Potions and Snitches downloader.
2. Copy the main story URL from Potions and Snitches. It should look like this:

https://potionsandsnitches.org/fanfiction/viewstory.php?sid=1234

3. Paste the URL into WP Downloader.
4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
5. Download the EPUB.

EPUB downloads are free for everyone. You can also download a PDF after signing in with a free Discord account. WP Downloader saves the whole story from Potions and Snitches. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories.

When the author adds new chapters, download the whole story again. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB that you already have. See the Potions and Snitches download guide for more help.

Track the story on Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from the Goodreads database. Search for the story title and author first in case another reader has already added it. Check both details before choosing a listing, since another work may have a similar name.

If you cannot find the story, Goodreads allows some members to add it manually at goodreads.com/book/new. Your account needs a verified email and cannot be brand new. The only required details are the title and author.

You can refer to the downloaded EPUB and the original Potions and Snitches page while entering the information. Search carefully before adding a new listing because Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicates.

Track the story on The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph using the story title and author. The work may be missing from its database, especially if it is fanfiction rather than a published book.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If you cannot find the story, check its current help pages instead of assuming that its book submission process also applies to fanfiction. You can keep the EPUB as a local copy while deciding how to record the story.

Keep a private fanfiction library in calibre

calibre is another option when Goodreads or The StoryGraph does not have the story. It is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and it lets you maintain a reading list without a public database entry.

To add a Potions and Snitches story to calibre:

1. Download the EPUB with WP Downloader.
2. Move the file to the computer where you use calibre.
3. Select Add books in calibre and choose the EPUB.
4. Edit the metadata or cover if you want the library entry to be easier to recognize.
5. Open the story in calibre’s e-book viewer when you want to read it.

The viewer includes a Read aloud feature. calibre can also convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF and send books to a connected e-reader over USB. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Move the story to another device

You can keep the EPUB on the phone or computer where you downloaded it or move it to another reading device.

For a Kindle, follow the guide to send Potions and Snitches stories to Kindle. For a Kobo, see the Potions and Snitches Kobo guide.

You can record the story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph when a suitable listing exists and keep the EPUB in calibre or on your reading device. Download the whole story again whenever you want a copy with newer chapters.
