How to Track CFA Archive Stories on Goodreads or The StoryGraph
Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from Goodreads and The StoryGraph. You can still download a Comic Fanfiction Authors Archive story as an EPUB, then record its title and author in either service. If neither database has the story, you can keep your own reading list in calibre.
Download the CFA Archive story

Keep the story details together
Note the title and author on the archive page before adding the story to Goodreads, The StoryGraph, or calibre. Using the same details in each place will help you identify the story in your reading list.
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. When the author publishes more chapters, download the whole story again.
Track the story on Goodreads
Search Goodreads for the story’s title and author. Most fanfiction and web serials are not in its database, but the story may already have an entry.
If you find it, check both the title and author before using the entry. Different works can have similar titles.
If it is missing, a Goodreads account with a verified email can add it at goodreads.com/book/new. Brand-new accounts cannot add books. Goodreads requires at least a title and author, which you can copy from the Comic Fanfiction Authors Archive page.
Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate records. If an existing entry contains a small error, use that record instead of creating another one.
The EPUB and Goodreads record remain separate. Read the downloaded file in your preferred app or device, and use Goodreads to record your progress.
Track the story on The StoryGraph
Search The StoryGraph for the title and author. Its database may not contain the story.
The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If your search comes up empty, check its current help pages for guidance.
You can still read the downloaded EPUB without a matching StoryGraph entry. To keep a complete private record, add the file to calibre instead.
Keep a reading list in calibre
calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can use it to store and organize archive stories that are missing from public book databases.
After downloading the EPUB:
- Open calibre on your computer.
- Select Add books and choose the downloaded EPUB.
- Edit the metadata to match the title and author on the archive page.
- Add or change the cover if needed.
- Read the book in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.
The e-book viewer has a Read aloud feature. calibre can also convert EPUB files to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader itself does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
