How to read Wattpad stories on a flight without Wi-Fi

Download the Wattpad story before your flight, then open the file on the device you plan to carry. Once the EPUB or PDF is saved, you can read it without Wi-Fi. Test the file in airplane mode before you leave.

Download the Wattpad story before your flight

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and there is nothing to install. Use it while your phone, tablet, or computer still has a reliable internet connection.

1. Open the Wattpad downloader.
2. Copy the link to the Wattpad story you want to read. A story URL looks like this:

3. Paste the link into the box. WP Downloader will detect that it comes from Wattpad.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF. EPUB is free for everyone. PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the file to the device you will use during the flight.

You do not need an account to download public Wattpad stories. If you sign in with your Wattpad account, you can also download paid stories your account owns and stories from your library or archive. WP Downloader can only download material your account already has permission to read. It cannot bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

You can download a whole story, one part, or a Wattpad reading list. Download the whole story if you want all of its available chapters for the flight.

If the story gets new chapters later, download it again. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded.

Choose EPUB or PDF

You can also save the story as a PDF and open it in a PDF reader. Both formats work without an internet connection once the file is on your device.

WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files. Kindle users do not need a MOBI file. Amazon’s Send to Kindle accepts EPUB and PDF files but no longer accepts MOBI.

Prepare the file on your device

Phone or tablet

Download the EPUB or PDF directly to your phone or tablet, then open it in an app that supports the format. Check the file before leaving so you know the download finished and the app can open it.

A browser tab may not remain available without a connection. Use the downloaded EPUB or PDF for offline reading.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Download the EPUB or PDF, then deliver it through Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. You can send the file by email to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address, through the Send to Kindle app, or on the web.

Amazon converts EPUB files and adds the book to your Kindle library. It can then appear on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app. Delivery requires an internet connection, so send the file before your flight. If you use email, the sender address must be approved for your Kindle account.

Kobo

Save the story as an EPUB before you travel. Follow the Wattpad stories on Kobo guide to prepare it on your device.

Laptop

Save the EPUB or PDF in a folder on the laptop itself. Open the file before departure with a reader that supports the format.

Test the file in airplane mode

Check your offline copy before you leave:

1. Confirm that the EPUB or PDF is on the device you are taking.
2. Open the story and check that its chapters are present.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close and reopen the reading app.
5. Open the story again and move between a few chapters.

If the story still opens, it is ready for the flight. Turn connectivity back on if you need to download it again or finish sending it to Kindle.
